THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
I finally booted the last Mojave build on my XPS (9343 FHD i5-5200U model) Now I have got the same issue as both of you, sound doesn't work. I repeat, thank you for everything!
my issue with sound were solved by live booting ubuntu (without installing) and check if the sound works (in live ubuntu), if there is sound you're good to go. just restart and go direct to mojave: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-dell-xps-13-9343-sierra.206399/page-46#post-1879833

ps: you will be using this "live booting ubuntu" either if you want to use applealc or voodoohda.
I had voodoohda but often got kernel panic. and now with applealc it's more stable, my audio works great (not perfect though, there is "hlup" sound before music's playing if you're just on idle/no sound environment. Fortunately it's not that bad and only occurs while on battery)

Booting from USB drive to live Ubuntu first time did nothing but after second time audio is restored in High Sierra and Mojave :clap:. Thank you very much my master I bow down to you :). Nobody could figure it out but you.

Hello I successfully installed Sierra a while back using this tutorial but made the stupid mistake of formatting the windows partition with disk utility, now being GPT.

I was wondering if there is any way to revert this so I can install windows in that partition without having to reformat my entire drive and install macOS again. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for making this awesome tutorial, I love to show off my hackintosh to ppl.

no, you will need to wipe to NTFS for windows

upgraded from 10.14.2 to 10.14.3 with mbr manual patch. went quite smooth. Just read the txt file and proceed with installscript. Nothing more is necessary after upgrading.

Here you are my friend! My laptop model is touchscreen UHD 4K. If you have same version it might work. Good luck!

Thanks mate, I will give it a try tonight. (I have the XPS 13 9343 with QHD screen, its not 4K but will give it a try)

BTW, cant I just format the ssd drive as apfs and install straight away or using the patch is a must?

Thanks again guys!

Hi guys, got mojave installed but cant get the graphics working... I tried creating a patch with hackingtool (matching #DATA below) and added under holypaulie's device config with no luck ... the only way I can boot it is without graphics at all, see screenshot -> intel HD Graphics 5500 with 21MB, its soooo slow...)

Thanks in advance

PS: I will attach the error with the technique described here later today when I get home...

Hi guys,

I finally installed a clean mojave 14.2. Unfortunatly its not working as expected.
I had to downgrade the BIOS to version A07, then change the PREALLOC DVMT from BIOS as I was not able to apply the stolen mem via whatevergreen, so thats done.

These are the problems Im facing:

- its soooo slow / laggy, unusable I would say (actually, I installed mojave twice and both times really laggy..)
(had to downgrade but it unusable.. too slow/laggy... no idea why its happening.
  • wifi does not work...
  • no sound (use to have sound working on the first installation, but on the second it did not work, need to have a look later, but it sooo slow that I cant really do much...)
  • takes ages to boot and shoutdown
I am attaching the debug

I really really appreciate if anyone could help me with this (@RehabMan @holypaulie ), I have spent lot of time already and I dont want to give up but its driving me mad

I followed this guide: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/tool-generate-proper-problem-reporting-files.235953/ , hope all is there...

my system specs:

XPS 13 9343 - i7-5500U - 8GB ram - SSD Liteon 512GB - HD 5500 - Dell Wireless 1560 - QHD screen

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance!
Code:
<key>PluginType</key>
            <integer>1</integer>
        </dict>

should be removed as you already have it:

Code:
<dict>
                <key>CStates</key>
                <false/>
                <key>PStates</key>
                <false/>
                <key>PluginType</key>
                <true/>
            </dict>

probably best to check config.plist from the laptop guide which has been updated:

Hi, thanks for the suggestions.

I tried your suggested changes but the same, slow, all time that multicolor rounding circle... I am starting to hate it! :p

BTE, I did boot with RehabMan config (its in the debug zip file -rehabman) to check and its the same, really slow...
