It's working for me, I manually injected the vanilla broadcom kext you posted (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13972199/LAN/AppleBCM5701Ethernet_10.10.2.zip)

and used kext wizard to inject FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_BCM577XX_as_BCM57765.kext via kext wizard and rebuilt and repaired permissions. I went ahead and used the built in updater to update to 10.10.2 without any issues.

These kexts make enabling Ethernet so much easier, thanks! So I put FakePCIID.kext into the efi partition and the FakePCIID_BCM57XX_as_BCM57765.kext into /S/L/E and Ethernet still works.

A bit strange to put the two kexts in separate locations... Probably best to decide where you want to put them and stick with it.

Hi, I've installed this kexts for BCM57786 and card is recognized (I didn't tested if it works), but strange output is generated constantly in verbose mode:
FakePCIID: configRead32(0x00), result 0x16b314e4 -> 0x16b414e4

and when I shutdown or restart, again this output appears. Is it normal?
Using Mavericks 10.9.5

It is normal FakePCIID output. It will write a log whenever a return value is remapped.
