Hello,

I'm running Mavericks 10.9.5 and everything is working beautifully (including all drives on the internal SATA bus) but when I plug a drive to the external eSATA port it won't mount to the desktop (I also have the same problem with external FireWire drives). I'm fairly certain I have the proper MultiBeast 3rd party SATA/eSATA drivers/kexts installed (for an ASUS Sabertooth X58 board) and I've even experimented the Intel Generic SATA driver to see if it would work. Still nothing. But here is what I find strange - the external eSATA drive is identified by the bios during start-up and is even given as an optional boot drive in Chimera. If the bios and Chimera are recognizing it why isn't it showing up on the desktop along with my internal SATA disks?

Are there any kexts that might be interfering with the drive mounting properly?

There were several other threads about SATA drive issues but they all seemed to be related to hot swapping/getting them to behave as internal/external/etc - sorry if this question has already been asked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BUMP - any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

Can anyone help me with this???!
