Direct Update to macOS Sierra using Clover

Hopefully you'll be able to install. One thing I've noticed from your config.plist is that InjectKext is set to Detect and not Yes. This has caused many problems since El Capitan. MultiBeast installs to /L/E as Apple suggests for 3rd party kext. Let us know how you get on with the installation. This is one of the reasons MultiBeast and UniBeast hasn't been released.
I set Inject to YES, it was working on el capitan on DETECT, but i just changed it to YES just in case. one last question, should i put my kext into S/L/E? or not

Don't put your kext in /S/L/E. Apple requests all 3rd party kext to be in /L/E or EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other/:)
Repair permissions!

Make sure that you are injecting the correct graphics. I've had this myself when testing, injecting graphics with one method and injecting graphics with another method, 2 types of injection equaled 3 monitors.

Oh, that was the problem. The config I found online injected Intel which is not necessary. Now I removed it and it works without any problem.
Thank you so much. :)

Upgrade from El Capitan to Sierra went smoothly for me with 2 exceptions:

1.) NVIDA drivers. This was an easy fix. Downloaded BETA versions from NVIDIA and life was good after a restart.
2.) AUDIO: No Audio devices found. I tried to decipher the post from toleda found here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/no-audio-devices-realtek-alc-applehda-guide.143752/ but it was above my pay grade. I downloaded the various tools but the closest thing I see to audio devices in DPCIManager is this: 10DE, 0FBA, 3842, 2957, NVIDIA Corporation That seems a bit odd as NVIDIA doesn't sound like the right answer to me.

BIG HINT: I was an idiot and failed to this the first time:
--> Press spacebar to enter Boot Options and choose Without Caches option and/or Inject Kexts

The boot happened too quickly for me. D'oh!

I did this after I fixed the NVIDIA issue but the audio issue is still out there.
Any wizards with the easy fix?

THANKS!!!

FIXED!!!

A couple of things:

1.) EFI partition was empty because... for some reason, the drives/volumes were moving around. What was previously disk0s1 moved to disk1s1.

2.) Once that was done, if I updated audio using toledo's audio_cloverALC-120_v1.0b0, it stepped on my video. so,

3.) rebooted with disabled nvidia drivers. this, of course, produces slow graphics response (paging windows, etc.) but then,

4.) rebooted again with empty cache, injected kexts, nvidia driver and... Magic! Everything appears to be running as expected/hoped in Sierra.

Upload your config.plist, remove your S/N and RtVariables section so I can take a look. What system definition are you using?
Sorry to bother you with this one, but on my config.plist/boot i put the name of my drive to boot automatically into it but is not doing so, it used to work on previous OS, any post or direction you can direct me?

I take it that because I, previously, hadn't known about, ergo hadn't enabled "without caches", that was what prevented the upgrade install boot option from booting the Sierra installer (launched as an upgrade within El Cap, I might add - I am not talking about a USB-based installer) further than an empty (black) progress bar, then?

Thanks for this guide.

Set the boot order in your Bios.

Before the OS Update.
Mount EFI Partition
Backup - Copy the partition in a backup folder on my desktop
Remove all files from the EFI Partition
With MultiBeast using the QuickStart option and select the Ethernet an sound driver
it recreates the EFI files in EFI partition.
Then using Clover Configurator I was able to update to the lastest version using the install/Update Clover
I was able to launch the Sierra Update as describe in post #1
At reboot I noticed that's the sound was not working so I apply the patch audio_cloverALC-120_v1.0b0
Then I put back my config.plist previously backuped
I also put back the Microsoft folder because I have a dual boot....
That's it....
All is back and working as previously.

Just wanted to say this method worked like a charm for me. Using method from #1 hosed my EFI partition. I was able to recover it and using method above I'm on Sierra now.
