All of a sudden my Mac won't go to sleep anymore. Only the display turns off, but the power light remains on. As a bonus, the audio stops working after the display wakes from 'sleep' again.

Actually this problem plays for two weeks or so. I can't recall changing anything, which could cause this. In another topic with a similar problem it was advised to enter the following command into the terminal: pmset -g assertions. I got troubles interpreting the outcomes.
I hope someone can help me on this one. If I read the last line I'm quite convinced something is preventing the computer from sleep.

Any help is appreciated!!

I had the same problem recently. I thought I had not done anything to change my system, but suddenly sleep stopped working.

For some reason my wireless printer would no longer connect to my system. I ran a report on the printer, typed the printer IP address into my browser, the printer reconnected with the Hack and I discovered by accident that sleep/wake was working again.

I am not saying that this is your problem, but I never thought of associating that type of issue affecting the sleep cycle on my computer. I discovered by accident that sleep was working again and had to work my way back to think of what I did that may have affected it. I almost did not remember that I even messed with my printer.
