Hi everyone, I just completed a Skylake build, everything works perfectly as expected, except for audio, which is working, but is giving me continuous crackling/fizzing sound. The crackling is stronger when no audio is played, when something is playing the noise is almost completely covered.

Specs are as follow:
  • i7-6700K
  • Asrock H170M Pro4S (audio is ALC892)
  • 16GB RAM
  • EVGA 650GQ
  • GTX 1060
  • Sierra 10.12.4, everything updated
  • Latest Clover
I tried researching but there wasn't any specific solution to ALC892 crackling, or anything specific about my motherboard.
I found an old tip saying to change the audio output in the MIDI Settings to 16bit-96khz but that didn't work.

Installed and did post-installation following the Tonymac guides, not my first hackintosh, but I've never had this issue. The speakers are fine because the audio is clean with other sources (laptop, another pc and phone).

Thanks!

I am having this same issue. Also a first time builder myself.

Specs are as follow:
  • i7-6700K
  • Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD3 Ultra (ALC 892)
  • 32GB RAM
  • EVGA Geoforce GTX 980 SC ATX 2.0
  • Sierra 12.12.5
  • Latest Clover
I also tried changing the audio out in the MIDI settings as previously mentioned, but that didn't work. I also followed the instructions here with no success: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/stop-the-popping-in-sierra.202355/

I am considering this ground loop as a next option, but curious if there are any other suggestions from the community.
