Hello there,

I'm an absolute novice at this, just spent all day getting my first Hackintosh up on a new build. My parts are as follows:

Gigabyte Z170X-UD3
i7-6700k
EVGA GTX 970
Evo 850 (2x, for Win10/Sierra)

Essentially what I did was follow this video here:

I made it all the way into Sierra, but when it came time to install the graphics drivers, they just wouldn't stick. I used the drivers found here, 16C68: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...for-macos-sierra-10-12-2-367-15-10-25.209714/

I also downloaded the EFI Mounter v3 and edited my config.plist as per suggested by the video. The nVidia Driver Manager appears in my system preferences, but whenever I try and switch from the OS X Default drivers to the nVidia driver it reverts back after restarting. Also, I'm not sure if it's relevant, but nothing shows up under the ECC tab, it just says "no device found."

Any help leading me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated, I've spent hours trying different methods and reading, but I'm still stuck at square one. Thanks for your time.

Here are screenshots to my build info and my config.plist as has been modified.

Thanks for the reply, I actually managed to solve it with another method, I was using a DVI cable to link my monitor, and I ended up swapping it for an HDMI, and that seemed to do the trick, the GPU sticks now, very odd.

The problem now is I can't get any audio working, installing the ALC1150 and 100 series audio through MultiBeast yields me the input/output devices in the sound system prefs, but I've still got no actual sound, any suggestions?

You could try this method for audio:
https://github.com/toleda/audio_CloverALC

That is what I use and don't have any issues. One question I have, are you dual booting Windows?

I have 2 SSDs, yes, one for Win10 and the other for Sierra.

As far as the audio goes, I found that reinstalling the 1150 + 100 series audio drivers with MultiBeast seemed to sort of work the 2nd time... they now appear under the sound settings, and plugging my headphones into my PC's front jack yields audio! However... when I try and play through just my speakers, I get nothing unless I crank the volume all the way up, and I hear a crackling sound and a very faint bit of audio. When I boot into Win 10 the speakers work as they should however...

Dual booting causes some weird issues with ALC 1150. You have two options to solve it. I use option 2.

1) Uninstall the RealTek drivers in Windows and just use the default Windows Drivers.

-or-

2) Follow the instructions here to use CodecCommander to fix it: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...h-windows-and-10-10-3-no-sound-solved.162380/

I just tried the audio_clover ALC method as per your 2nd reply, using the audio_cloverALC-120.command method. All that seemed to do was remove the "Speaker" option from my sound settings, now I no longer can even use headphones for sound, would it be safe to just reinstall the MultiBeast audio drivers again and try pursuing the CodecCommander fix?

I feel like I'm almost at a solution here, it's been a long weekend, thanks for all the help

So I read that thread regarding CodecCommander, I'm at a bit of a loss though. It says "Put it into Info.plist of CodecCommander.kext and maybe rebuild your kernel cache."

When I downloaded CodecCommander I don't see a CodecCommander.kext folder, am I missing something?

When I get home this evening I'll upload my CodecCommander.kext.

Attached is my patched CodecCommander.kext. Use Kext Wizard to install it to the /Library/Extensions folder and be sure to add the darkwake=8 boot flag to your config as well.
