Audio doesn't work on Mojave

Could you please confirm if i'm understanding the link above:

-Install FakePCIID.kext
In config.plist:
-change layout-id to device-id and set the value to 0x9d74?

Remove AppleGFXHDA.kext from /S/L/E. Keep it in a safe place. And then for audio use only AppleALC method. No Fake ID. The audio will work. The thing is the controller related. Removing GFXHDA sometimes gives kernel panics though. only sometimes. But it does bother me though.

It didnt work for me. Using FakePCIID.kext and Intel_HDMI_Audio fake id kext didn't work for me.

You probably made a mistake or had something else wrong.
Or you did not have the latest FakePCIID kexts (the fix for this problem is a recent addition).
