I have been having a bit of a headache with my new build. I had the system running for about a month, but during that month I had a lot of applications crashes on me. Sometimes it would take 4-5 times to open an app without it crashing, only to find that the app would work for 15-20 minutes and then crash again. Installer also crashes a lot when I try to install new apps, but if I try a few times I can eventually get it to install (but then the app will crash a lot when trying to run it). This happens with all apps: Mail app, Adobe programs, Google Chrome, iTunes, and many more.

I got so frustrated with it that I just re-installed OSX (10.8.2) only to find that the problem is still happening! What is going on? Why is this so temperamental?

My suspicion is that it has something to do with the new SSD drive I am using now, because these problems were not happening when my OSX was installed on a regular HDD. I am not positive that this is the issue though, what are some thing I could do to troubleshoot this?

I have noticed that if I boot with the -x (safe-mode) flag, then apps will work fine.

By the way, the multibeast settings I used were: http://i.imgur.com/FcsWb.png
I also installed a Radeon HD 6850 1GB with a ATI kext using KextBeast -- Graphics seem fine but just letting you know in case it could be a graphical problem.

Here is an example of what I see when installer crashes, which sometimes happens multiple times before the app will install: http://imgur.com/mIvZoEr
Here is what Google Chrome does when it crashes (happens all the time if I am not in safe-mode) http://imgur.com/uJRvfrJ
Some .dmg files appear corrupted too, even though they download completely fine. If I run the .dmg on a different mac, it installs fine and does not appear corrupted. Here is what I see on my mac when this happens: http://imgur.com/4PSSfr0
And the final thing that guarantees that something is wrong: every once and a while I will get a good ol' kernal panic like this one http://imgur.com/8fMwM4p

Has anyone been in a similar situation and found a fix? What are some things I can do to troubleshoot this? Thanks!

Anyone..? I just reinstalled OSX again and the same thing is happening :(

Hi, im having the same issue.

My build is a little different though:

Ga-z77n-wifi
i5-3570k
corsair 8gb ram
Sandisk 120gb ssd

Restoring to a 10.8.2 time machine backup seems to help for a while, but then the crashes start again.

Also safemode seems to work.

Im curious, have you solved your problems?

fixed mine by getting new ram sticks. One was faulty and got replaced on warranty.
