Just did the bench. And tried multiscreen... DVI on 1st card, HDMI on 2nd card..... no way !
HDMI is displayed OK, but DVI is flickering and displaying garbage, even after opening session.

Config: GA Z97X-UD3H + i7-4790k + 32GB
Clover + El Capitan 10.11.1 (15B42)

LuxMark 3, Luxball

2x R9 290X: 29422
2x R9 290X + i7-4790k: 31825

For who is curious about power consuption:
Whole UC with 1xR9 290X is eating 105W in idle (OSX desktop, chrome opened)
Whole UC with 2xR9 290X is eating 125W in idle (OSX desktop, chrome opened)
ATi's Zero core is doing well !!

I'm new to hackintosh, can you please create a tutorial for r9 290 el capitan setup?

In order to get your R9 290 working, you just need to install Clover bootloader and edit config.plist this way:

Devices > FakeID > ATI = 0X67B01002

Graphics > FBName = Baladi

Graphics > Inject > ATI = YES

KernelAndKextPatches > ATIConnectorsController = 8000

KernelAndKextPatches > ATIConnectorsData = 000400000403000000010300120403030004000004030000000101001102010100040000040300000001020021030202000400000403000000010400220504040004000004030000000105001000050500040000040300000001060020010606

KernelAndKextPatches > ATIConnectorsPatch = 000800000402000000010200220502030004000004030000000101011204010100040000040300000001020021030202040000001402000000010300110203040004000004030000000105001000050500020000040200000001040110000406

Here you get a config.plist already edited (it is the one I use).

Yes, I get the same problem on HDMI, but it gets better if you do this:

Go to System preferences > Displays, and change the refresh rate. If 60 Hertz is already selected, change it to 50 Hertz and then to 60 Hertz again.
This issue improve a lot with this trick, but is not an actual solution, you have to do this on every login. Would be great if somebody who knows a properly solution to this could share it with us.

Thank's a lot for your help. There's no 50 hertz option, both option is 60 Hertz (NTSC), I'm using dual monitor and dual GPU with Intel HD4600, the one that connect to HD4600 have 50 hertz option though. i can fix this by switching to "Mirror" and then switch back to "Use as separate display"

What exact R9 290 are you using? Some, apparently, refuse to work at all. Others work pretty well.

Hey man I have the same card. Are u able to get R9 working on El Capitan.

Yes, not perfectly as I have to change the refresh rate on every boot, but it works OK.
I'm using HDMI port and Clover bootloader.
What kind of troubles do you have with this card ?
