AMD R9 290 (non X) on El Capitan

Hi,

I've been capable to get this card (AMD R9 290) working with no problems in my Yosemite installation, using Clover and FakeID 0x67B01002, but in a clean installation of El Capitan, that method didn't work fully well. Now, I don't have QE/CI.

How can I get QE/CI again on El Capitan with this card ?

Can somebody help me, please ?

I have partially solved the issue adding this to Clover config.plist :

Devices > FakeID > 0x67B01002

Graphics > Inject > ATI > YES

Graphics > FBName > Hawaii


Now I get QE/CI working, but time to time, I get black screen and noise too.



Any ideas ?

FakeID looks wrong to me, 0x67B11002 should be your native ID, try 0x67B01002.

There is no framebuffer called 'Radeon', so I think your injection does practically the same as Inject=No.

Sorry, I wrote it wrong, actually is 0x67B01002 what I have in the config.plist (I corrected the post).

I changed FBName to Baladi and Hawaii but not luck yet, all keeps the same, intermittent black screen and noise.

problem seems to be due to bad cable. Check...

Everythig works OK using Yosemite, the problems are related to El Capitan.

You could try other ports and/or patching the framebuffer.

Stock framebuffers will usually not fit your card, and auto init might be buggy (10.10.3 introduced buggered up auto init for some people with DisplayPort connection - maybe it's a similar issue?)

Hawaii is the GPU type which R9 290 use.
FBname should be 'Baladi' for that connector data.

Every time I use Baladi as FBName the only I get is a black screen (no image at all). With Hawaii it works with full QE/CI but intermittent black screen, noise and blinking image.
