Did the same thing neray did above, but also had to change the video settings in BIOS when I upgraded to sierra. On el capitan, it would boot with 32MB, but recovery never did. But on another Hackintosh, I remembered that I had to change memory allocated for video from 32 to 64 and everything else seemed to work---very frustrating.Like others on this thread, I can't even seem to get it to boot. Can someone post their initial steps: BIOS settings and how they created the installer USB?
Devices-->video setup--> change auto to IGD, and then preallocated memory to 64MB from 32.
