Hi guys this is my second attempt to finish my build, this time with El Capitan (I found out the hard way that I can't instal Mavericks with my hardware) ,
everything went fine until I installed the Nvidia Graphics Card drivers for my GTX 970

I was following this method precisely https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...170x-ud5-th-i7-6700k-gigabyte-gtx-970.192392/

Now I am stuck here
IMG_8790.JPG
every time I try to load the system it just crashes

I have already tried to add the following boot args : dart=0, GraphicsEnabler=No, nv_disable=1, and nvda_drv=1
at the options section of the Bootloader but still can't avoid the system crash

Am I overlooking something?

Thanks and please forgive my bad english

Are you using the MacPro4,1 or 5,1 system definition?

Hi Jim
Thanks for your reply
I'm using 5,1

Hi Jim
Thanks for your reply
I'm using 5,1

That's your problem. MacPro 5,1 is looking for ECC ram which you don't have. Change system profile to iMac14,2. The kernel panic is not graphics related at all.

Thanks for the tip, I will do a clean install and start again, lets see if it works

It works!! I have the following working so far:

Wifi
USB2 (all my 7 ports seem to work but they only recognise usb2 devices for some reason)
Graphics card (and now I can see it listed on the system report

I still need to get Audio, USB3 and thunderbolt working

but for now thanks a lot for your help!
