iMac Pro X299 - Live the Future now with macOS 10.14 Mojave [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Thank you for the terminal commands, very useful. I added "Total Power", and I enjoy to see how it goes from 43W at idle to 330W (and 55C): Mac:~ $ ioreg -l |grep \"PerformanceStatistics\" | tr ',' '\n' |grep 'Temp\|Fan\|Core\|GPU Activity\|Memory \|Power' "Fan Speed(%)"=47 "Core...

iMac Pro X299 - Live the Future now with macOS 10.14 Mojave [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

I am not using you complete EFI folder, you are right. I was testing, so the EFI folder and config.plist was very minimal. And hence I got the Clover drivers messed up. About needing Whatevergreen, I think I will if I want a stable and complete system. I did not notice any problem with ports...

iMac Pro X299 - Live the Future now with macOS 10.14 Mojave [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

No whatevergreen and no SSDT change. But I have to remove the following Clover drivers: EmuVariableUefi-64 and CsmVideoDxe.

iMac Pro X299 - Live the Future now with macOS 10.14 Mojave [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Another update. It seems that the drivers CsmVideoDxe and EmuVariableUefi-64 were the problem. They were removed the first time and the RX580 worked, and were active the other times when it failed. I removed them now and it is working again. Without Whatevergreen and without RadeonDeInit...

iMac Pro X299 - Live the Future now with macOS 10.14 Mojave [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Well, after this first boot I couldn't reproduce it anymore. I get the usual black screen. I have tried booting into Windows (no problem there) and back into macOS and also shutting down the machine and removing the power cord. Nothing, I could not reproduce the first successful boot. Time to...

iMac Pro X299 - Live the Future now with macOS 10.14 Mojave [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

I'd like to report some success in using the Asus ROG Strix RX580 with 10.14.1. The computer boots and recognises the card, macOS seems accelerated, and I have a reasonable Geekbench Compute. The system sleeps and wakes (at least I tried this for a few seconds). The only thing so far is that...

Sure, here it goes (the first try had the wrong hash).

iMac Pro X299 - Live the Future now with macOS 10.14 Mojave [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Sorry, I don't know, I didn't even try. I decided to go directly to the 10.14.1, but had to spend some time figuring out the correct hash numbers. In the end I looked at the 10.14.1 installer log and saw the correct links/hashes there.

iMac Pro X299 - Live the Future now with macOS 10.14 Mojave [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

@kgp The section D.2 of your guide (create an installation disk) can be updated to 10.14.1. Replace: 49/44/041-08708/vtip954dc6zbkpdv16iw18jmilcqdt8uo with 35/53/091-93471/ff5kp0aiow1d87t494xp5twbugymnlvz16 and replace 041-08708 with 091-93471 I just created an installer like this, and it...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

@stevelucky, @jaraheel : Perhaps you can start without the full copy of KGP's CLOVER folder. I also don't have an Asus mobo (mine is MSI) and nonetheless the system is working fine. For example, I suggest you start with a very simple kext/Other/ folder. Go for a vanilla FakeSMC from Rehabman...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

I'd like to report a small improvement with the Nvidia drivers from version 157 to 159. Please note that I have been influenced by the lower performance problem when moving to SMBIOS iMacPro1,1. Before (iMac18,3), I had a score of 1755 on Heaven Extreme 2560x1440, which was similar to the...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

I think the answer is "yes", but just to double check: Your USB disk has a partition called EFI. This is what shows up in the Finder. This partition could be called anything. I've seen it often called ESP (for EFI System Partition). Inside this partition there is a folder called EFI. This...

I just did this again, and it works for me. I suspect something is not quite right in your installation. Do you have xcode installed? Did you install the command line tools? Please do a brew info qt5 and see where it is installed. I got: Paulos-MBP:UEFIPatch pabreu$ brew info qt5 qt...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

You have to install the VoodooAudio Preference Panel and move one slider a bit. That should remove the noise. It happens to me after each reboot. I have used the VoodooAudio on several hacks, and I always had this problem that after restart it is necessary to tweak the controls a bit.

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

I suppose there is not a clear answer for this. The default is definitely not better, since there are a few drivers that are best left out. However, I prefer to have extra work: I install all drivers, and then manually go to the drivers64UEFI and remove the ones I don't need. I place them in a...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Hi Nicola: You are the guy in Insanelymac that also posted the same issue in my thread. Since you have the same motherboard and processor than me, I can try to help, but I already answered on the other forum: Your config.plist is a mess. You have lots of patches active. You also have a DSDT...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Clover simulates a UEFI, so even when you boot in legacy mode, what the OS "sees" is a UEFI. Mostly the problems I had were booting in CSM thinking it was UEFI and getting strange errors, specially form Windows. For example, if I installed Windows booting in CSM+Clover, but then booted using...

How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

    * The installer got corrupted. Create the install USB again. * You have the wrong installer for your SMBIOS. For example, you have the normal installer and have the iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS, or have the iMac SMBIOS with the iMacPro installer.
