Nope, I was just curious and wanna build my new hack after almost 5 years of using old Clover-based build. Getting my mind around OpenCore is tough
One more question: can I use SSDT files from OpenCore 0.9.2 mini-guide even if I have unmodified BIOS F9j for my Z390 Designare?
@CaseySJ hello there! First, so grateful for a herculean effort on this topic. Second, I have maybe a stupid question: why agdpmod=pikera and shikigva=80 even for Intel iGPU config? Dortania's GPU-Buyers-Guide suggests these options are required only for external GPUs. Or am I missing something?
Dear community!
Currently I use a super stable but outdated 10.14.6 Mojave build using i7-9700K and Gigabyte Z390 Designare with no videocard. I do music production and my DAW of choice, Logic Pro (and some other music-related software like UAD) requires newer OS to receive updates. I consider...
The file you've attached is not an SSDT file, right? It seems to be a firmware image and I'm not really ready to flash the TB3 controller as my Apollo works super stable and the only minor issue is that it's not the default in/out device after reboot.
I guess I have to research some other...
Oh, I've made a better screenshot, to include the Apollo itself, can you please see if your ioreg looks the same? Including that Apollo is listed as some PCI device. Thank you!
BTW, I didn't flash the controller, only installed some updates under Windows OS.
Hello there! Can someone please help me with the following problem. Universal Audio Apollo x6 (thunderbolt 3) is not saved as a primary sound input/output device, it always resets to integrated audio upon restart. In Audio MIDI app it is set as default input/device and in Audio Settings too...
I've closely monitored for couple of months and for those who plan to use Thunderbolt 3 audio interfaces I can positively confirm it works properly. My Universal Audio Apollo x6 and TB3 Satellite Quad are super stable and not a single issue has been experienced since I build my hackmac using...
Hi there guys,
I've got two drives, Mojave SSD and general storage traditional HDD. On that HDD, there's a EFI partition with the folder structure EFI/APPLE/FIRMWARE/ with the single IM142.scap file in it. Any idea what's that? There's not much info on that file here on the forum.
Is it some...
AFAIK there's no universal solution. ASUS and Gigabyte have their own PCIe Thunderbolt cards (ThunderboltEX 3 and GC-Titan Ridge respectively) but your motherboard must support these cards. You cannot just plug them into any random motherboard.
Using 2 x Dell 2209WA for Logic Pro for almost 4 years. One monitor is not enough for music production software, which requires lots of display space for all its mixers, plugins, audio and midi editing tools. One small problem is that both of the monitors started to produce some hiss (or buzz?)...
Thank you for the reply. But I got the question: does the second display extends the desktop or just mirror it? The second option is of no use to me, cause I need two different workspaces to be displayed on the two different monitors.
First of all sorry for the so-many-times-asked-about-theme. I've got a Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 board and 3770K, the HD4000 works just fine (with this workaround http://www.tonymacx86.com/150-enabli...herboards.html). I use my Hack for music recording, now it's completely silent. But I want the second...
I have the slightly different question. I've got a Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 board and 3770K, the HD4000 works just fine (with this workaround http://www.tonymacx86.com/150-enabling-hd-3000-graphics-7-series-motherboards-hd-4000-6-series-motherboards.html). I use my Hack for music recording, now it's...
