10.6.7 works perfectly, but once I try to go to 10.6.8 or 10.7 it starts to go crazy. Still not sure what the deal is.
I'm pretty sure I've tried it with one stick, but I might as well try it again with one and see how it goes.
I'm not using a raid on my system. Here are the basic specs:
10.6.7
i7 950 3.07
2x 4gb ddr3 gskill
XFX 5770 1024mb
samsung 1tb hd (main os drive)
samsung 1tb hd (clone drive)
Gigabyte x58a-ud3r rev 2.0
BIOS FF
If you need any more details, let me know.
Thanks
No luck yet. I've followed the guide but I don't seem to be getting anywhere. When I reboot to the Installer drive it stays at the gray apple screen with the spinning thing. It'll stay on there for 30min or longer if I let it. When I hard shut it down, and power it up, nothing shows up on the...
Re: CustoMac Pro Install Guide (X58A-UD3R+ATI 5770+10.6.6+64bit)
Would definitely love a tutorial on how to do a fresh install of this setup with 10.6.8. I've tried multiple times and every time I reboot it just stays on the gray boot screen with the spinning wheel. This .8 update is driving me...
I've just finished a similar build and am having the occasional freeze as well with my GT240. Any help would be appreciated. Also the DVI port won't work on boot up. I have to boot with VGA. Thanks.
Yea it's been working great for me for the past couple of days.
I know I set it up to run in 64 bit mode, but does anyone know if there is a way to check that it's actually running in 64 bit? System profiler, etc.?
I can now say that I've got a 5770 fully working after the 450. I downloaded the latest iBoot, and burned it to a cd. Took out the 450 and replaced it with the 5770. Booted from the iBoot disc. Once it booted into OSX, I ran MultiBeast with the following options in the pic (System Utilities...
So I"ve decided to switch from the 450 to the 5770. The 450 is fully functional, but the daily lockups and/or kp are getting a little insane :banghead: . Will there be anything that I'll need to add/remove to make the 5770 work, or am I looking at doing a full restore? Thanks for your time.
Ok I'll check that out. I have noticed though that when I plug in the iPad into my little macbook it charges with no problem. Kinda crazy.
I did notice on gigabytes site that they have software for the pc that will "turn up the power" for usb on the pc side of things for charging...
Anyone know of a way to enable the usb ports to activate the high powered charge mode? I've got an iPhone and an iPad. They both connect fine, but the iPhone is the only one that will actually charge off of the usb ports. The iPad keeps saying "Not Charging". Any help would be appreciated. :D...
No, not trying to use both at the same time. I'm just trying to get the back one working. Currently it only produces very very quiet audio. When I plug the speakers into the front jack it sounds perfectly loud and crisp. There is also no option to select rear audio in system preferences.
What do you mean by "write the hardware ID in to info.plist"? I've found the info.plist inside the kext file, but where do I put my hardware ID inside it?
FYI I've got audio working on my alc892 on the front headphone jack only, using voodoohda experimental 0.2.56. The rear green port however...
Dude!!!! Thanks sooooo much for this!!! It worked for me too! I've got the same card and after hours of digging, your post finally fixed it! Really appreciate it. :D
Hi guys, I've got a new build put together and everything is working fine except for sound and network. The basic specs are gigabyte x58-usb3, gigabyte ati 5770, i7 950. It's running 10.6.4, and I managed to load the custom dsdt for this motherboard thru multibeast. I've searched and googled all...
