Thanks wildwillow!
I can use the older OSX install that is on the pc for testing. It's an older drive with an install that I used to use before I updated to SSD drives.
I am starting to think that maybe updating to Sierra would solve everything? Can I do this and not lose any data? Is there a method listed on this site that details how to update a previously working El Capitan install to Sierra?
I appreciate the help!
Thanks for the help, wildwillow! I did eventually want to update to Sierra, but is it necessary for my components? I'll check the link provided and I may have other questions.
Thanks again!
I updated my old hardware to a more modern set of components and now I cannot get past the Clover drive selection. After the Clover screen everything goes to a black screen with a blinking cursor and never gets any farther.
I went from a i7/920, Gigabyte EX58, GTS 250 Gpu, to a i7/7700k...
Please let me know how it goes. I just updated my old Hackintosh system with a Gigabyte Z270x UD5 and cannot boot past clover screen. Clover won't even boot into the Windows 10 or 7 drives that I have installed. I'm hoping that it is an easy oversight that can be fixed quickly.
It appears that my problem(s) were solved by installing the new SleepEnabler kext.
So far everything works except my Apple Magic Mouse. I can't get it to connect but oddly enough my Apple TrackPad connects and works fine.
Does anyone have a clue why the Magic Mouse doesn't work?
I made the mistake of updating last night using Apple's auto update. Shut down the system for the night, woke up this morning and was greeted by a kernel panic.
Unfortunately I also made the stupid mistake of not realizing that my Time Machine HD had stopped backing up in July 2010.

Before I give up on this video card, can anyone suggest a way to slow the fan down through the use of a different driver? I'm even wondering if the card would function properly with the fan unplugged.
I replaced my 9400 with the Zotac 8400GS yesterday and upon bootup I got a black screen (no video) and yes that thing got so hot that I pulled it immediately! Good thing they only cost $32.99. I'm guessing my only hope now is to go with a cpu that has on board graphics support.
I have a Biostar 9400GT in my mini-itx build that has a fan that stays on full when booted into MacOS. The card functions normally when booted into Windows 7 so I am assuming that there might be full support using another kext.
When I did the initial build I used the DSDT for my MB (Gigabyte...
I used the VoodooHDA 0.2.7.0 Experimental on mine and it seems to work okay through the on board port. I haven't tried HDMI.
Does the Zotac 8400GS get hot? I went with the 9400GT and I need to consider an alternative because it is way too loud. The fan stays on full all the time (I'm assuming...
I apologize for the double post.
I fixed the network problem by using Kextbeast ... Thank you
I'm not sure which audio selection to make because this MB uses ALC892 and I don't see that listed in Multibeast, is there an alternative?
Thanks for the help :D
Thanks for the help Tony! worked like a charm
I still don't have audio working and I noticed that this MB uses ALC892. I don't see a selection for that in MultiBeast, is there a substitute?
Okay ... Update
Somehow even after I initially set my bios for AHCI it became reset to IDE. Oops :o
I was able to install Snow Leopard and update to 10.6.4. I used the DSDT for my MB and manually installed the Lnx2Mac's Realtek Ethernet Driver into the extensions folder. I...

Hello Tony
I am doing a very similar build with the exception being the case, processor and HD. I am using the Antec ISK 310-150, the processor is an i5/760 and the HD is a Seagate 500GB Hybrid. I wanted this to be a dual boot system OSX 10.6.4 and Windows 7.
I successfully installed Windows 7...
