documents my experiences, before I gave up :/
You may have some similar issues with HP related bios stuff, so don't use that thread as a guide, but rather a...
I'm probably going to just do a full wipe and reset through the recovery partition which will wipe the other partitions too, as that will fix my EFI also. I realize that this will wipe my Mac install, but for future reference, how do I stop this from happening again? Like what was the cause of...
Ok, and as for windows, how should I go about getting it working again? I can't even access that partition because windows thinks the drive is locked. I'm running chkdsk right now with some parameters (/f /r /x) which is allowing at least that to work, but i don't know what else to do :(
I got Internet working with wifi.
my clover install on OS X partition is not seeing the OS X install, I can only boot from the installer USB
yes I did have the hfs plus driver, but if I try to repair or anything, windows says that the drive is locked...
the hfs plus driver was on the installer...
Ok I got internet working, wifi at least, now onto getting speakers and headphone output working, any ideas?
And I still can't figure out how to get Windows working... the repair utility isn't able to access the drive, says it's locked or something.
Also, to get into OS X, I still have to boot...
Ok I don't even have Ethernet working so I'm not sure how to download anything. My bigger issue right now is that Windows still isn't working, and the Mac partition doesn't show up at all in Clover (installed on the actual hdd)
It wasn't working before no, but it just let me boot from USB now, so I changed the config.plist.
if my wifi isn't working and I've got the BCM94352HMB which is supposed to be compatible how do I fix that?
So I renamed that file and clover now works, however OS X doesn't boot any more as soon as I select it it black screens even in verbose mode... I added the fakesmc.kext voodoops2 kext and HPraidinjector kext.
booting with the installer gets stuck at usbmsc identifier (non-unique)...
Wait it just got further with getting into windows 8 ,the sign in page shows up but when I log in it shows "the user profile service failed the sign in. User profile cannot be loaded"
Yes I just installed clover, but it still tries to boot into windows and doesn't go to clover... So I boot with the USB right now.
it looks like the EFI partition is screwed up. Any ideas how to fix that?
Sorry I barely understand what I am doing at this point. What I meant is that my laptop isn't booting into OS X by default. I'm still booting off of the USB to get into OS X.
my editor partition on the main drive is called "NO NAME" and contains an EFI folder which then has an APPLE folder, as...
Sorry I meant set "OS X" as the default boot partition, I'm typing on my phone because I can't get Internet on my laptop...
and yes those are the exact instructions I used.
coule it be something to do with the HPRAIDInjector.kext?
I installed clover as uefi, yes. And my windows installation was probably uefi also. And I haven't actually set is x as the default boot partition yet, so a normal restart would go to windows which doesn't work. I haven't actually installed clover on the Mac partition yet
I honestly don't know. I booted with the installer using Clover and installed to a separate ntfs partition which I wiped and formatted to Mac extended journaled, I know I didn't wipe the rest of the drive because I can still access windows files in my so x installation. After that I rebooted...
Currently typing this on my phone... I installed on the separate partition, but Windows is no longer working, even from clover or regular reboot, it starts to load and then black screens and gets stuck. I don't have internet on the Mac install and I'm not sure where to install clover... Help!
I'm doing a dual boot so I have the separate NTFS partition, I believe the issue I'm having is that the Hard Drive isn't AHCI, and with HP the BIOS is locked so I don't have the option to switch it. I found some kexts that apparently make this work anyway (AppleACHIPort.kext, IOAHCIFamily.kext...
So I got it all the way to the installer now, thanks!
Problem I am having now, is that my hard drive isn't showing up as an install location. Not sure why...
