New Apple Silicon Macs for 2021: Redesigned iMac and a Mac Pro mini

I've been Hackintosh since 2012, mainly due to economics. I simply can't afford a Mac Pro, especially the latest model! As you suggest, I would indeed be interested to move back to the legit Apple desktop systems if they come down in price and still perform. It's funny how Apple uses the word...

<< Solved >> Sleep/Wake problems after macOS update

Managed to solve the problem (at least based on initial field tests). The solution, it seems, was very simple. Back to basics — I referred back to the original article which inspired this build, and reloaded my motherboard settings. Then, I hopped back into Clover Configurator and unchecked...

<< Solved >> Sleep/Wake problems after macOS update

Thanks for the reply, @P1LGRIM — I made the updates: Acpi > ✅FixShutdown SMBIOS > ✅Trust Drivers > Drivers UEFI64 > ✅EmuVariableUefi (now installed) ... but the same problem persists. Can't wake the system from sleep, or it restarts itself. Any ideas? Should I delete some old stuff no longer...

<< Solved >> Sleep/Wake problems after macOS update

Hi gang. I'm posting a help request after lots of research on the existing threads. Like many others, I'm having Sleep and Wake issues. Thanks in advance for helping a fellow Hackintosher. Same hardware since January 2019, but recently updated to macOS 10.14.6 after several weeks of ignoring...

<< Solved >> Some Apps Hang Upon Launch (networking/wi-fi?)

The solution, at least, the fix that seems to work presently, is to uninstall all network kexts from /Library/Extensions, and then use Multibeast to install IntelMausiEthernet v2.3.0. The other versions didn't work, nor did switching to AppleIntelE1000e.

<< Solved >> Some Apps Hang Upon Launch (networking/wi-fi?)

Hate to bump my own thread, but this problem is back. ... Like a dumbass, I updated my system to 10.14.5. Solved numerous problems in the immediate aftermath, but this symptom returns. In the previous iteration, the fix was to update Clover and download the latest version of all extensions...

<< Solved >> Some Apps Hang Upon Launch (networking/wi-fi?)

After some further research, it seems this is a wider Mojave problem. Folks have complained about this problem, usually after an upgrade from High Sierra, and have solved it by rolling back. There doesn't seem to be a fix as such. Rolling back isn't an option — I'm still getting set up and...

<< Solved >> Some Apps Hang Upon Launch (networking/wi-fi?)

Hi friends, I recently built a new system and it works 99% as desired, with some small lingering issues. I've tried searching the forums but these issues seem to be tough to describe. Hopefully, your immense knowledge can help. The main issue is that several apps hang upon launch. That is...

    Continue rebooting during Mojave installation

I agree. There's some serious knowledge on offer here, but the bedside manner is often lacking. Even a simple phrase like "... within your Home folder ..." can go miles.

    Continue rebooting during Mojave installation

@cmn699 Thank you for such a detailed reply above (#4). This was helpful for me to get passed a blockage in my own effort.

Advice on fanless power supply and hardware config

Discovered a Power Supply Calculator on New Egg's site, and with my configuration it recommends 620+W so I'm going to stick with my existing 650W, which has worked fine and isn't very noisy. We'll see how it all comes together in practice — I can upgrade later both for power output and for...

Advice on fanless power supply and hardware config

Hi folks, The time has come to build a new main desktop Hackintosh — still rocking my August 2012 machine! I'm basing my hardware configuration on @pastrychef's configuration, as described here, and as introduced to me through the Snazzy Labs video with a similar build. My aim is to build a...

[Solved] Boot problem after fresh install - El Capitan 10.11.1

That worked! I removed AppleIntelInfo.kext from within my /System/Library/Extensions folder, and restarted. Boot to desktop with no problems. Thank you P1LGRIM for the eagle eyes in spotting my mistake. How did you recognize this, by the way? Clearly, this was a self-inflicted gunshot wound...

[Solved] Boot problem after fresh install - El Capitan 10.11.1

At some point I was probably testing power management, and/or trying to troubleshoot some sleep/wake issues. I guess I should remove it? Or just boot without kext injection? Help me out if I'm about to make things even worse! Thank you for responding. I'm sure you have many hapless folks like...

[Solved] Boot problem after fresh install - El Capitan 10.11.1

**Solution in final post** Everything worked fine until last week. 5+ years this Hackintosh has been rolling along. Then, accidentally updated for Security Update 003, and boom. Long story short, in attempting to fix it, I made it worse. Ended up doing a clean install of El Capitan from an...

Help with Mac OS X el capitan install (10.11.6)

It seems like we're experiencing something similar — and perhaps the same solution will help us both — but I will post a new thread. Thank you for replying.

Help with Mac OS X el capitan install (10.11.6)

Thank you for responding, BreBo, but as a fellow not-very-technical person, please take the effort to help this fellow community member! This is literally his first post and you respond with a highly technical quip, which doesn't seem to offer an actual solution. We're all friends here, but if...

[Solved] Security Update 2017-003 El Capitan

The above post is in regards to a desktop machine (hardware listed in my avatar). My laptop is a MacBook Pro, which works fine, relatively speaking. It's what I'm using to type this. Thank you for the tip about Spacebar. Seems obvious by I don't know if I would have figured that out!
