    10.14.6 Update Changed my BIOS

I just had an unpleasant, but ultimately successful, upgrade on my daughter's machine (i5-9400, Gigabyte H310M A 2.0, AMD MSI 580, headless iGPU and two HDMI monitors). I don't really understand how this could have happened, but here goes: Attempted to upgrade via Software Update from 10.14.5...

macOS Mojave is Now Available on the Mac App Store

Thank you for the response - I understand that this may not yet be clear, but are there likely to be instruction set issues running Mojave on an unsupported processor?

macOS Mojave is Now Available on the Mac App Store

Me too, brother (or sister?). There's been surprisingly little information on this. I've upgraded my Sandy Bridge machine with a 1070Ti (Metal compatible) card and running an older SMBIOS (12,2 iMac). I'm guessing that at minimum I'd need to update to a 14,2 bios or something else, but I've no...

[TOOL] [Generate Proper Problem Reporting Files]

That's awesome and answers my question precisely. Thanks so much! Reading up on how Unix (and MacOS specifically) deals with spaces in file paths. Thanks for the help!

[TOOL] [Generate Proper Problem Reporting Files]

Thanks black.dragon74 & RehabMan. I get that the point you are trying to drive home to me is to think in terms of total file path, not just the actual name of the folder. It keeps coming across as though you think I somehow forced the system to give my specific home folder "singj" a name with a...

[TOOL] [Generate Proper Problem Reporting Files]

As mentioned there are no spaces in my home folder name. Only the hard drive on which the folder resides. I didn't do anything unusual other than move my user folder off my boot drive (SSD with limited space) onto another internal drive and point the Finder at the new location.

Broadcom BCM94360CS2 wakes immediately from sleep

Similar issue: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/bcm94360cs-bluetooth-causes-instant-wake-on-sleep.245837/ Hello everyone - I'm using a Broadcom BCM94360CS2 card, recently purchased from eBay, along with the following PCI-E adapter...

[TOOL] [Generate Proper Problem Reporting Files]

I've always been running the script from New Canaan, where my user folder (and therefore my Download folder) is located. My OS is installed on a separate hard drive (an SSD). I'm sorry that communication is breaking down. :( I thought that the SDD "High Sierra" - where my OS is installed - would...

[TOOL] [Generate Proper Problem Reporting Files]

I disagree. I only deviated from the directions in post #1 when you advised me to ignore the attached "install_tools.sh" script and clone the "gen_debug.sh" script directly from GitHub. I've been following that advice for all subsequent attempts, launching the "gen_debug.sh" script from the same...

[TOOL] [Generate Proper Problem Reporting Files]

(emphasis mine) Respectfully, that last piece is what I needed to hear, and what wasn't clear from your previous posts. So I will run the script after renaming New Canaan again and will take screenshots. Wouldn't this mean that the script would fail with anyone running it on machine with the...

[TOOL] [Generate Proper Problem Reporting Files]

My home folder does not have spaces in it. My account / username is singj. The hard drive that hosts this folder is called New Canaan. It is distinct from my System drive because my system drive is a smallish SSD and my User folder is large, so I have it on a separate drive and point the OS at...

[TOOL] [Generate Proper Problem Reporting Files]

My user name doesn't have a space in it (singj). The drive that contains the user folder *does* have a space in the name (New Canaan). Going to find and re-read the FAQ now.

[TOOL] [Generate Proper Problem Reporting Files]

Here's the EFI/CLOVER folder to start with. Thank you for your patience and help. Again, I'm using an SSD for my System drive ("High Sierra") and a regular spinning-platter hard driver for my User folder (that's "New Canaan"). Do you want me to rename both drives or just the system drive before...

[TOOL] [Generate Proper Problem Reporting Files]

Just not on mine. :( Okay, well it doesn't sound as though there's any way forward for me. At least IORegExplorer works so I can post that info when seeking help in a different forum. Thanks anyway.

[TOOL] [Generate Proper Problem Reporting Files]

Hi again RehabMan. So, looking at your link, I realize that this whole forum is laptop support and I am on a desktop machine. I don't know if the tool was designed exclusively for laptops or if it should work on desktops as well. If the tool wasn't designed for desktops and if that's a cause of...

[TOOL] [Generate Proper Problem Reporting Files]

Edit: original message was too angsty. I cloned the script from GitHub and have attached the exact script that I'm using. I tried changing the System and User drive names to omit the space, then ran the script. This created several issues outside of the script (things generally freaking out...

[TOOL] [Generate Proper Problem Reporting Files]

Sorry to reply to myself. RehabMan, I'd like to send you the actual script but I'm not sure how to access it at the location that it was downloaded to by the installation script. See, I told you I'm that guy. Updated my last post with another bit of strangeness with accompanying screenshot.

[TOOL] [Generate Proper Problem Reporting Files]

Hi RehabMan and black.dragon74 - Sorry, RehabMan, but you are giving me *way* too much credit. I'm that guy who tries to follow your directions to the letter, misses something, posts crying about how it didn't work, etc. I know just enough to be a danger to myself and others. LOL. Ironically...

[TOOL] [Generate Proper Problem Reporting Files]

Hi and thank you. I've reinstalled using the commands that you provided, but the results are the same when I attempt to run the script. In the terminal output it looks to me like it's dropping the "Canaan" off of the volume label and that's making it so that it can't find the files that it needs...
