    The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

This is the guide I was following:- https://comsystoreply.de/blog-post/force-hidpi-resolutions-for-dell-u2515h-monitor Seems like one can force 1920x1080 HiDPI on the 2K monitor.

    The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

Does anyone have any experience using HiDPI with onboard graphics HD4600? From what I have read, I can do 1080p HiDPI at 60Hz using the Display Port Cable. Am I correct in this assumption? I am about to order a Dell U2515D (2K screen), and according to many sources, I know it can do 1920x1080...

    The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

You've inspired me to try and work on my other Hackie - the ASROCK H270M that I use in HiDPI (1080p) headless using the stock HD630. Never really got it to work perfectly. But looking at this Dell and how well it works, I am sure it can get there.

    The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

Does anyone have any input on BT/WiFi? So I bought the Broadcom card BCM94360, and dropped it into the PCI-E slot, and the WiFi works like a charm. BUT for BT, the card comes with a connector that needs to plug into the USB 2.0 Header on the Mobo. Slight problem - the 9020 SFF does not have...

    The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

Awesome write up, thank you OP. @trs96 I have an old Dell Optiplex 9020 lying around with i7 4790 and 32GB RAM. I plan to use HD4600 DP to HDMI cable to pipe audio through my monitor. Can't wait to try this out.

    GA B75M - D3H - Correct LAN Driver?

Hi, I've been successfully running Sierra for quite sometime on the Asus B7M-D3H motherboard. I've recently upgraded my internet connection to 150mbps. I've been baffled for quite since time as I was not able to get beyond 100 mbps even after a lot of complaints to the ISP. I knew that the...

    Adding/Using HiDPI custom resolutions

I've been running a headless Mac server for nearly ten years now. It allows me to have thin clients no matter where in the world I may be. The server runs all my profiles - and services + access to some IP restricted services like mail etc. Basically I do a lot of my work on the server...

    Adding/Using HiDPI custom resolutions

:) No problem really, just overall slower UI over the network. A niggle perhaps? I am using HiDPI on a headless macOS Server running Intel Core i5 7400 and HD630 graphics. Everything works well. Just that when I am remote'd into the system (Apple Remote Desktop) with HiDPI over my Gbps LAN...

    Adding/Using HiDPI custom resolutions

Perfect guide! Using this I am running at 1920x1080 on HiDPI using my HD630. Only minor niggle, I guess, is the overall slow UI. Now correct me if I am wrong - a more capable gfx card would be able to handle that well? Is it worth investing in a discrete graphics card for that? Any...

How to enable 'Kaby Lake' Intel 6xx Graphics (10.12.6+)

Interesting - I would be curious what you find. I will look at my own console log and see what I find. It doesn't seem like my machine sleeps - I can hear everything running - fans, HDDs, etc. it is just that I can't get my monitor to come back on when I switch it off. I can Remote Desktop into...

How to enable 'Kaby Lake' Intel 6xx Graphics (10.12.6+)

Strange issue - wonder if it is a wake/sleep issue. I have disabled both Display and Computer sleep for my machine, and have disabled the screensaver as well. But when I switch my monitor off (connected via HDMI) and switch it back on again, the screen remains blank, even though I can remote...

Trying to salvage my MSI GTS 450 Fermi for Mountain Lion

Salvage was successful. I decided to just pop the GFX card in and see what happens. To be extra-safe, I booted with the Unibeast created partition, and installed the nVidia 10.8.2 drivers, followed by the patch in Multibeast 5.2. Reboot, and all is fine and very snappy! OpenCL works as evidenced...

Trying to salvage my MSI GTS 450 Fermi for Mountain Lion

I configured a Core i3 3225 Ivy bridge a few weeks ago, and have been running off the Intel HD4000 on board graphics. Yesterday I bought a new 27" Dell U2713HM monitor that I want to run at its native resolution of 2560x1440. I know the HD4000 will not be able to handle that. I do have an...

    xMove Installation Support

Re: xMove + MultiBeast: Install OS X 10.7 Lion Tony, you rule. What about the DSDT edits some were talking about on another forum - CMOS reset.... Is that a concern?

What are the considerations when choosing an SSD for Hackie?

Till Lion is released with TRIM support, you'd be better off with SSDs with Sandforce controllers. Corsair F120 is an amazing drive, and can be had for ~$169 (120GB). I have one of these beasts in my machine, and I am continuously left agape at the difference an SSD has made.

Success: GA-X58A-UD7, 5870, Apple Cinema 27" via DisplayPort

Haller, Thanks for your detailed reply. I too have had issues when using display audio on my Gateway and conflicts with the Realtek driver. However, I gave up long back and started using just the display audio, and it works well for the most part. How about brightness control? I see you have...

Success: GA-X58A-UD7, 5870, Apple Cinema 27" via DisplayPort

Totally with ya on the noise part. I have been trying to find a replacement for my xfx 9800GT which screams like a banshee while gaming. If you don't mind, I had a couple of questions regarding your setup, since I too am contemplating a similar set up (sans the elaborate case/water cooling...
