I'm considering adding a solid state drive for my hackintosh build. I've searched but can't find any clear cut considerations on adding one of these. Are there types or models to avoid? Is one just about as good as another? Do they connect to SATA ports? Are their any changes I need to make to my hackintosh set up like BIOS or Boot.plist or DSDT or anything like that?

I was looking at one of these for starters: http://www.microcenter.com/single_produ ... s+20110308

but I have just started this process of determining what I need to know and consider. I graciously welcome your thoughts if you care to share them.

Till Lion is released with TRIM support, you'd be better off with SSDs with Sandforce controllers. Corsair F120 is an amazing drive, and can be had for ~$169 (120GB).

I have one of these beasts in my machine, and I am continuously left agape at the difference an SSD has made.
