    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Hello everyone, I am currently on a BIOS version for the z690 ProArt Creator that allows TB2 devices to connect. I just upgraded from my last TB2 device, and no longer need this. I would like to update to a newer BIOS version to get Thunderbolt hot plug support. Even if its not always reliable...

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I have a RTX 4080 and a 6900 XT in slot 2. Literally very similar build to you with a ProArt as well. I don't have any black screen issues and can dual boot just fine. I have a DisplayPort switcher that I use to make sure that the Nvidia GPU doesn't have an active display output at times. I did...

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

ANOTHER UPDATE: Just updated from Bios 9901, I was using the latest ME version 16.1.25.2020 with no real setbacks to my configuration besides boot times. I am now running BIOS Version 2103 with the same ME and everything booted much faster. I still have my Thunderbolt 2 and 3 devices working as...

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I have the latest ME from 2204 and am running with 9901. I honestly haven't seen any issues, my mac, windows and linux drives all boot up just fine. thunderbolt work well, performance seems identical except booting times are a little slower. I get some hangups with a dark screen before bootup...

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I totally get that, I really wanted to upgrade to 2204 at the time due to the thunderbolt hotplug support. I have a thunderbolt 2 device I rarely use and didnt care for it. it's just a nice to have if I can get both thunderbolt 3 and 2 supported properly.

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I want to give this a shot. I just realized I am actually in 2204 and my Thunderbolt controller is in NVM36. This Thunderbolt update gave me tb hotplug support for my audio interface, and I was so happy. I didn't realize it would disable Thunderbolt 2 support. UPDATE: I have updated to 9901...

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I just built mine with the 12900K, and I really wish I would have waited for the new generation. I believe the situation may be very similar to Alder Lake in terms of configuration.

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Its a PowerColor Red Devil. I've had a 6800, 6800xt and this 6900xt. All from PowerColor, and they all worked with no extra work like other variations do.

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I'm using a SN850X 2 TB. On the latest Monterey, no issues whats ever. Real world performance is a bit better than my previous PCIe gen 3 NVMe drive. but the benchmarks and speed test have given me up to 6000MB/s transfers. I haven't had any sleep issues or anything like that as of yet.

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Hey Casey. I've been having a great time with this new build it works amazing. The one thing I still haven't figured out is why my Thunderbolt hot-plug does not work. Even if I boot into Windows without OpenCore as a bootloader. I open up Thunderbolt configuration software, and it shows that my...

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I ordered my BCM94360NG yesterday and will try over the weekend. I still have the Fenvi and will compare if its worth it to keep this new card. With these motherboards only having 3 PCIe slots, I really want to free the lower one.

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Hey Casey. at the beggining of your guide you mentioned that we can use BCM94360NG module To replace the intel one. But I cant seem to find where that module is. judging by these picture https://www.pcinq.com/asus-proart-z690-creator-wifi-review/ Is it possible that the module is embedded into...

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Removed those device properties, and, now, GeekBench shows the correct label for the compute engines and stuff. Everything seems fine without it. Thanks for the info.

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Oh Cool. I didn't have any issues without this in my previous build with this PowerColor Red Devil 6900XT. I'm gonna experiment with removing those device properties and just booting normally.

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

It Does not. Even though the Apollo is technically Thunderbolt 3, I wonder if the controller for it is Alpine Ridge or something, and that's why it may not be picking it up. I cant find those type of specs from Universal Audios product Manual. I know this is usually incorrect but system info...

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

One of my other questions about this Build is why the GPU had to be "spoofed" I doubt this reduces functionality but why did we have to declare it as a pci device in Device properties. Geekbench detects my 6900xt as AMD Radeon Unknown Prototype Compute Engine for Open CL and AMD Radeon HD GFX10...

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I installed the latest Public Beta from Apple, and everything is set up correctly. I installed the latest UAD drivers, and they work just like in Monterey. But I am experiencing the same hot plug behavior. So, sadly no luck in that department.

    Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I'm on Monterey 12.5. I actually just deleted my Ventura Drive. I should try that again. I can't move to it yet since some of my software is still unsupported specifically from Rogue Amoeba.
