Been a while, but thank you for this. I remember Tony's board and my older dell laptop. It was back when he was using his 'legacy' board and the community kicked ass then as it does now. I remember driving tony crazy with pm's for help, and he never complained and helped me a ton. thank you Tony...
I did the update through update manager, I was on 10.6.2. During the install it crashed and now it won't boot, not even with tony's boot CD. I'm running a inspiron 1764 with an i5 430m. Any ideas?
I seem to get this a lot when using it. Is this because I am trying to install kexts that I dont have hardware for?. It says that the "xxxxx.kext" has been installed improperly/ I also can't find easybeast... It also screws up my keyboard and trackpad support. Even if I don't install those kexts...
Do I just install everything in multi beast or do I have to pick and choose. I'm not positive on all the hardware I have and I want to know if I can just install everything.
Ok I had to do a restore of my entire system. I tried and couldn't get backtrack 4 to work in harmony with win 7 and snow so i gave up. Now I have been using Tony's guide to get back to dual boot but except I use my Norton Ghost image to get back to windows. Things go fine, but for some reason...
So i finally became aggravated enough and disassembled my dell inspiron 1764 to find that it is using that wirless adapter. I've tried all the kexts on kext.com. i need airport to work for the OS to be practical. does anyone know of a kext that would get this adapter to work.
Thanks
Anthony
Re: Ethernet/Internet Knowledge Base - P55 UD2 only
Ya i'm still in the process of getting my ethernet and wireless adapter to work along with the onboard keyboard and touchpad. Otherwise it was a quick and easy install. I"ll keep everyone updated, I won't stop until I figure out how to get...
If you've been on this forum then you would know that I finally figured out hot to get os x on my new dell inspiron 1764 with an i5. One of the most annoying things is that I can't seem to get the onboard keyboard and touchpad to work. My usb keyboard and mouse work fine but not the onboard...
I don't know to much about it, I can't seem to find to much documentation on the system. Its a Dell inspiron 1764 with the i5 processor. here is a link to the specs page.

Ok so I install my realtek ethernet driver per instructions of Tony's guide. Once installed it does find the ethernet in network prefs. When using dhcp though it says that it has a self assigned IP and cant connect to the internet. So I then prceed to enter everything in manually, it then goes...
I'm dual booting windows 7 and snow leopard. I know that the backup software in windows 7 will basically kill my osx install if I backup from it. I wanted to know if there was anything out there that could make an exact disk image of my entire disk so if anything ever happens I could just...
I'm no pro but I had a similar problem. It sounds like you don't have the proper kernel to boot up with installed. I went through this same problem. My advice to you and what I did was I stayed at 10.6, I never upgraded and installed the same mach_kernel Tony uses to boot the system. The...
Does anyone know how to Change the countdown, it's like 5 seconds I would like to get it to 30 seconds. I would also like to change it to default to Windows and not Snow Leopard. Thanks
Anthony
This has been a 3 day long ordeal, I have finally been able to get Windows 7 and Snow Leopard to dual boot on my system. I have learned a lot throughout this journey. My best advice is to ask questions and remember that if your pc reboots instantly with the boot loader to type 'busratio=20' at...
