    EFI can't mount

There wasn't an error message per se; just a message notification from efi agent and hackintool "Volume on disk xxxx failed to mount". In terminal, even using sudo diskutil, I got the message "volume on disk xxxx failed to mount. If you think the volume is supported but damaged, try the...

    EFI can't mount

Since installing 11.1, I can't mount efi partitions from either efi agent or terminal (even using sudo diskutil mount command). Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Don't know why it's causing problems. Are you using Clover or OC? Zip your EFI and send it and I'll take a look

I'm assuming you have updated the bios to uefi. I have attached Cloverconfig.plist and OC, but you should probably also try experimenting with opencore since you'll need that for Big Sur.

Need more info as we aren't mind readers. What MB, bootloader (Clover or OpenCore), kexts already tried, etc.?

ASUS Z87 ROG Maximus VI OpenCore

Have installed Big Sur on an ASUS Z87 (1150) ROG Maximus but can't get the native audio to be recognized. I know it's an 1150 so I'm guessing the address and layout-id are not included in AppleALC.kext or the MB audio is broken. Config.plist and 2 screen shots (opencore debug and ioregistry)...

Apple's WWDC 2020 Will Be Online Only

Sounds innovative, but I'm certain it's a response to the current SARS-COV-2 pandemic. Hopefully, the incidence of infection in late May / June will have decreased (as of today, we just don't know if it will behave like other coronaviruses), it won't be zero. Hence, avoidance of large gatherings...

Having Trouble Updating Directly to High Sierra from Sierra

I suggested the AMD RX 580 because it is AMD, supported by Apple, relatively affordable, and not too far off the performance to your GTX980. Of course, if you have more to spend or need better performance, go for a different AMD card.

@syrinx-priest You're using legacy bios which has a hdd limit. Older legacy bios and MS Windows that use a mbr partition can't address these larger drives as a single partition (actually the limit is generally 2.2 TB). Hence, drives larger than 2.2 TB are divided into logical partitions. GPT...

Just be careful. It's quite tricky to roll back to legacy bios and there's a chance you could brick the bios. So, even though some people have reported some minor bugs in the U1D bios (it's beta, after all), I think overall it's worth a shot.

Guiscard, If you're still on F13 bios. I suggest upgrading to U1D, which implements uefi. However, make sure you copy the old [F13] bios to a usb stick and familiarize yourself with how to roll back to the F13 bios in case you aren't happy with the U1D uefi bios.

I have a GA-Z68-UD3H-B3 which I suspect is close enough so that with few changes you should be able to get your's working in no time. I'm using the last bios (beta version U1n which provides uefi boot). For your board you should have ver U1D. My SSD is formatted with apfs. In the...

Having Trouble Updating Directly to High Sierra from Sierra

The nvidia web driver for HS contains info for all relevant cards. See the download section on TonyMacx86 and select the one that matches your HS build

Having Trouble Updating Directly to High Sierra from Sierra

You are quite correct. Sorry, I didn't look at your profile carefully. The GTX 980 will not work with Mojave or Catalina. IMHO, given your investment in a good working hack, you could stay with HS for now and save for a new AMD card (the RX580 can be found for ~$170)

Having Trouble Updating Directly to High Sierra from Sierra

Shouldn't be an issue; not sure why you selected HS, but if there isn't a specific reason, you might consider instead going to Mojave.

Having Trouble Updating Directly to High Sierra from Sierra

Need to see the troubleshooting files (look in /threads/tool-generate-proper-problem-reporting-files.235953/). BTW, USBInjectAll should only be used when you're defining which usb ports you want to keep active and which ones to disable to keep within the 15 port limit

Having Trouble Updating Directly to High Sierra from Sierra

You likely have some other kexts in /L/E necessary for you to boot. Look in /L/E to see if that is the case, and move them to the efi if that's were you want to have them rather than /L/E. By putting fakesmc in the /efi/Clover/kexts/other folder you may not be loading kexts you need from /L/E...

    [Guide] Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3+EVGA GTX650

There's a post on here from TRS96 "if you have Windows run GPU-Z to find out if it's got a GK 107 core." Other than contacting the manufacturer, I don't know how to determine the core.

    [Guide] Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3+EVGA GTX650

There are problems if the core is GK106 rather than GK107. Best to see if you can determine which core your gtx 650 has.
