Thanks for your reply.
Indeed, one of the port was not a part of the chipset XHC.
One of the non-reacting ports started working only after I disabled all but a few HSxx ports, so I managed to figure out which number was it.
I ignored the second non-reacting port on the front. IIRC due to the...
there is certainly a misunderstanding here. I refer to the first post of this thread, i.e. https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/native-usb-2-0-usb-3-0-on-skylake.202787/
I am aware of the guide you link to, but that's not the approach I followed to have native 15 ports limit.
p.s. a few link to...
My understanding was that this kext can be removed after the whole discovering procedure is done. That is, it's enough to have `USB-SSDT.aml in /EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/Patched` and a `DropTables` entry. Is it not the case?
EDIT: which is also confirmed within this thread, i.e. here...
thanks for the link to this general guide, I did see this post. But I don't think it gives any hints as to why USB 3.0 (i.e. speed-wise) won't be working. As I said, limiting USB ports works as expected, ports are determined as HS and SS correctly. I am not using anymore `USBInjectAll.kext` or...
Thank you for the script. Worked ok for me on Z170 gaming 3k. My only problem is that despite USB 3 stick being connected as SS port, its read speed is very low (~25MB/s), whereas the same stick gives ~200MB/s read speed on MBP. Anyone can advise on where to look at?
I am going through discovery process and there is something I don't understand: I boot with HS ports only, 14 in total on my MB, but for one USB port when I insert a USB stick, neither IORegistryExplorer nor USBMap python tool show me the activated port despite macOS 10.13.6 being able to mount...
thanks, I sorted out audio. Last question: I can't mount EFI partition after the update. It was HFS+ update, so I don't use AFS. I usually mount with Clover Configurator, but neither old version I used nor the most recent one can mount EFI.
UPDATE: strangely enough, EFI Mounter v3 worked. No...
You are right, @P1LGRIM . The name was of course a typo, but the location was wrong. Either way, just want to say that update to 10.13.6 (HFS+) went smooth. But the audio is gone. I think I saw in one of the replies (among 80+ pages) some links to audio issues fixes, could you give a hint? If...
I have a problem waking from sleep, no video signal:

yes, those patches fixed it for me, thanks for the link.
p.s. to be fair, they are available only since March 2017, so your statement "it works no matter the system" is not entirely correct. I was not working untill someone invested time into figuring out what to patch.
I just change the stock WiFi card with BCM94352Z and also have problems with WiFi. But I guess i need to do:
If using the suggested wireless card above, extract these four kexts:
Unzip RehabMan-FakePCIID.zip and copy FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_Broadcom_WiFi.kext from the Release/...
Solved the bloody problem:
1. Download PlistEditPro https://www.fatcatsoftware.com/plisteditpro/
2. Manually edit Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist and Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.windowserver.<somember>.plist where I changed all occurrences of 1080 and...
another thing i tried is going to boot into single user mode,
cd /System/Library/Displays/Contents/Resources/Overrides/
ls -c -l
but all the profiles (DisplayVendorID-blabla) are modified at the time of installation. The idea would be to remove the one I modified today afternoon...
Tried removing those two preferences files but still no luck: Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist and similar one in Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences/ByHost
