Make sure AppleHDA is NOT installed.
Make sure the latest version of CloverHDA is installed from bozma88's files in the beginning of this thread.
Run this command (it's technically 2 commands)
sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions && sudo kextcache -u /
Restart your machine and see if it helps.
Does it sound like it's playing sound that way too loud and therefore distorts (or) does it just give you static?
In order for me to use CloverHDA I had to make sure remove AppleHDA. If you have AppleHDA in your extensions folder move it out and rebuild your text cache.
My XPS QHD Touch w/ i5 & 8Gb
Is also rock solid after some initial driver conflicts (caused by me)
Charging, unplugging and plugging is no problem.
I patched my DVMT to 96MB (0x3)
USB-C doesn't work quite right but, from what I hear nobodies can hot plug/swap
I did not patch my own DSDT, I...
@bozma88 I wanted to get back to you about the cause of my crashes. It turns out I never properly cleaned up the kext files from one of your previous kext folders. This was my fault. I left AppleHDA & CloverHDA on the same system. This caused kernel_task to freak out and run at up to 700%.
My...
It seems that Fn+ESC changes (toggles) the default keyboard functions for the Fn keys.
Now back to my audio issues. It seems Traktor causes CloverHDA to flip out and takes the kernel_task with it. My machine seems to run pretty okay most of the time but, once I launch Traktor Scratch Pro it's a...
I will go back over my config or possibly copy your config over in it's entirety. Not sure where the instability is coming from but it's possibly a hotpatch I didn't get quite right. I plugged in my headphones last night and after a few minutes the port just started playing noise and the...
@bozma88 I find it pretty difficult to keep my 9360 working consistently. The problems stem from audio drivers I think. Sometimes they cause the kernel to shoot up %400 CPU usage. Other times the audio stops working on reboot and I usually invalidate and rebuild the kext files and reboot again...
Anyone's keyboard change so that the function keys are working as function keys by default as supposed to mute, volume, FF, Rew, Pause, etc...
Seems I can't change the functions settings from SysytemPrefereces>Keyboard.
Some backstory. My Dell XPS 13 QHD touch is a refirb but, at $800USD I thought it was a good deal. Maybe that's why it shipped with a SATA.
Intel 10 Series Chipset:
Vendor: Intel
Product: 10 Series Chipset
Link Speed: 6 Gigabit
Negotiated Link Speed: 6 Gigabit
Physical Interconnect...
After a long battle it seems I got my XPS 13 QHD Touch Stable (Finger's crossed). It seemed that the audio driver hates sleep or switching to my external soundcard on my mixer. I suspect the audio driver was making kernel_task skyrocket in CPU usage.
Question: My 9360 came with an M2 SATA...
I got Sierra 12.0 Installed on my XPS 9630 thanks to @SoundOfViolence1 . My 9360 came with a Killer 1535 Wi-Fi card which to my knowledge won't work so my buddy is mailing me a Dell DW1860. Anyone care to help me with the HD620, Audio. I tried to follow @RehabMan thread on it and couldn't wrap...
