So Just as I was about to give up I may have stumbled on a working combination:
on a Gigabyte P55A UD3 Rev 2.0 F11 (DSDT installed) MOBO:
-install lion over SL a described
-Do the bios reset patch (posted elsewhere-- easy to do with cut n paste)
-Install the Lnx2Mac's Realtek Network Driver...
I think I will need to revert back to SL 10.6.8. This keyboard/mouse/usb issue on restarts and loosing my network after sleep is just to buggy. There don't seem to be any known solutions to either problem. Maybe in a few months the bugs will get ironed out... or I'll build another system with...
It seems odd that those drivers wouldn't run 64 bit on the newest OS but worked fine on 10.6.8. And I wonder why it's only a problem for some configs?
Oddly I do get 'limited' usb-- the mouse generally seems to work but not the keyboard. And often at the same time no network until power down...
I've got the same issue here on the P55A UD3 F11. USB is gone without a COLD reboot. This is true even at the Computer Boot Screen (press delete for setup etc) so something in LION is hard locking USB on shutdown/reboot.
This kind of makes me nervous about using LION as it's not really a...
I have my own nightmare happening from attempting 10.6.8 and then Lion in one shot so I don't know if this still works in these version but previous on 10.6.7 and earlier running the MACH DESKTOP with an animated background stopped the "FERMI Freeze" apparently by keeping the card out of energy...
I have had a stable machine for over a year. I carelessly let the system do the 10.6.8 update with disastrous results. When the system reboot it hung at the [PCI CONFIG] spot. I removed the boot drive, mounted it to a laptop and replaced some KEXTS (as described in other posts for this...
Hmm. This sounds bad. In my experience the gts450 needed the fermi booter and drivers.
It also has the dreaded fermi freeze which was fixed with Mach desktop.
I guess I'll see If I can stick another video card in and get things rolling. Otherwise I'll have to pull the drive and stick it in...
I just did the 10.6.8 upgrade and now I can't boot past the big apple screen.
I have a fermi (GTS450) card and I didn't see the note about installing the drivers BEFORE rebooting. Am I hosed now? I am thinking I may need to run out and get another graphics card just to get things rolling...
So with the help of mach desktop to keep my nvidia fermi card from freezing the system I am at 99% functionality.
The only remaining glitch is that my USB (apple) keyboard does not work when returning from sleep. If I pull the USB plug out then stick it back in it then works fine. It seems...
I've been pretty happy with my hackintosh build but it does freeze/panic once every day or so. I had thought this was loosely related to waking from sleep with the panic occurring some interval following wake but it seems to freeze even without sleeping on occasion.
The build is pretty solid-...
Yay! Successful build with iBoot-GE, multibeast-- user DSDT based, combo update, tonyMac nvidia . Took me a few tries to realize the iboot-GE version was needed for the nVidia install. Also required the new realtek ethernet drivers.. which was a bit of a wonky install but works.
Lastly- Watch...
