I have had a stable machine for over a year. I carelessly let the system do the 10.6.8 update with disastrous results. When the system reboot it hung at the [PCI CONFIG] spot. I removed the boot drive, mounted it to a laptop and replaced some KEXTS (as described in other posts for this problem) and then put the boot drive back. Now it gets past the PCI CONFIG only to bomb out and say Platform not found/Support ACPI and crash. I tried running iBoot and get the same message (even stripped my memory and other drives out). This happens with 2 different nvidia graphics cards. I did not update the nvidia drivers before doing the update but I'm not entirely sure that's the root of my problems at this point.

I don't have my SL disk with me at this office but I'm not sure it would help.

Is there anything I can do to recover this system? It seems like most of the utilities require you to at least be able to boot up.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

Hi,
I had the same problem, I took out a tv card I had in a slot, and I changed some of
my bios settings, I cant remember exactly the ones, but whatever your getting a
kernel panic on, try disabling that in the bios, I have a p55, a asus p7p55.
