That means you are not using OC to dual boot, but the motherbaord bootloader. Your answer is meaningless in the context of the OP question.
I also cannot boot windows from OC with this board, but since i never use it anyway and when i do it just updates and mess with my bios boot order, i just...
Thanks for this info i need to test it! I also have sometimes laptop booting to RTC issue, let's say one every 4/5 boots, i am on opencore though. I also don't have VGA out in opencore (works in clover )
It was just an error on my side. Using a standard clean injectall config with SSDT uiac and XHCI port limit the add in USB 3 work as USB 3, this is solving the issue for now...
In my testing (I made a video on my Italian channel) the Asus board, M version, had the best VRM in the 200 euros...
Thanks
We spent the whole day tryn to get USB 3 working, no luck
I actually have no need for different EFIs as the cpu emulation works just fine in Monterey.
I have rx460 2gb, so really no issue with that either.
I just can't get USB 3 to work - the same EFI has no issue with usb 3.1 and 3.2...
I see, I have actually linked my github (which now contains an unknown revision - I have made so many changes, without success) https://github.com/whenmusicattacks/b660gigabyte . The board is Gigabyte B660 DS3H AX - being the cheapest board with Gigabyte Titan Ridge support on the market.
Oh...
I have followed this thread since the beginning so i know about SSDT PLUG ALT and the new way of naming cores as devices; machine boots and performs fine, and the USB map works on Monterey.
I only have issues enabling USB 3 on MOJAVE
With XHCIPORTLIMIT quirk enabled all ports work but usb2...
Thanks a lot for the help
I have been doing hackintosh for nearly 5 years, but this new Alder Lake thing really exposes the need for deeper understanding whenever you go to uncharted territory.
I am not sure where my mix and match comes from. I know the USB map works perfectly under Monterey...
Asus Thunderbolt cards suck, they always did, I cannot trust them. Before it was possible to just use Gigabyte cards on Asus boards, but now they use another pinout.
I also tested both boards (and many others) and they both use the same amount of power under stress, winch really is the only...
I am building a Mojave machine based on the b660 DS3H - the cheapest board with Titan Ridge support in europe. But i can't figure out the USB 3 functionality in 10.14 - this board has a very simple layout with 6 USB 2, 1 USB 3.2, a USB 3.0 header, 1 USB C onboard working at 3.2 and another one...
What is that? These blokes must be pretty new, never heard of them...
What do they know about hackintosh? Probably next to nothing
(i'm being sarcastic, come on really?)
I tried the Z690 UD
The VRM suck badly. I even ran a 12500 and it used 120w. While z690m -p from Asus at the same price uses 100. A 20% difference on such a low load would mean much more on high power CPUs.
Tested with LLC as Intel standard, running Cinebench r15 with same setup, same final...
Just a generic rant that maybe can result in some advice from the users here, and be an advice to you aswell.
I am very unpleased with the Gigabyte lineup for this generation, as the high end z690 boards seem to be confined to 3 PCIE slots only.
With the need for dGpu and TB Card, this...
A general advice: I am running Monterey on a Z690M Plus, the cheapest Asus board. The M.2 slot is not CNVI locked so I can use it with original Apple WiFi card and adapter. The system is doing great so far even though multi-core scores a slightly lower than Windows. I have only P Cores active to...
