Boot from clover fails 3-4 times before successful system boot

Success! I had a second look based on your advice about the clover version and missing ACPI files. I made a bootable USB with the newest Clover boot loader (5145) for testing. I used a "SSDT-EC-USBX-DESKTOP.aml" file I found on github that was made for Monterey and patched for Haswell or newer...

Boot from clover fails 3-4 times before successful system boot

I've tried a fresh clover install onto a USB using version 5145. Still no luck when I try to boot from it, both with a vanilla config file and my "working" file. As for the ACPI folder, I'm not sure if it was mistakenly deleted during troubleshooting. I have used clover cloner between my EFI...

Boot from clover fails 3-4 times before successful system boot

No luck, sadly. I don't completely understand what everything in the config file does (some I do), but should I maybe start with a clean config and try to slowly add in some of my settings until it "breaks"? Trying to figure out the best way to troubleshoot.

Boot from clover fails 3-4 times before successful system boot

Trying to be thorough, so here's what I got. Attached: EFI folder Screenshot of Library/Extensions text doc of S/L/E files (just in case) I also got a pop up for "Panic Medic Boot", which is new to me... screenshot attached. Also, below is the "problem report" text after the last kernel panic...

Boot from clover fails 3-4 times before successful system boot

OK. I tried again, but with the camera closer. It cuts off portions of the text, but is more clear. Not sure what can be done about the text overlap from the low refresh rate. I can't make heads or tails out of this, TBH. I see something about "... load succeeded" which seems like similar...

Boot from clover fails 3-4 times before successful system boot

Here's what I got. Not exactly the clearest shot, but hopefully it helps. I don't think the refresh rate on these old Apple studio displays are up to today's standards! Or my old iPhone 7... Thanks for having a look. Edit to add: I can try again if there is a particular area that isn't clear...

Boot from clover fails 3-4 times before successful system boot

That’s a handy trick that I was not aware of. Thanks for the tip. I’m getting an “in memory panic stackshot succeeded” error. Screenshot attached. A quick search of the forum and I wasn’t able to find any definitive solutions. Where is best to start troubleshooting?

Boot from clover fails 3-4 times before successful system boot

As the title suggests I have a working install of Monterey, but it takes 3-4 tries from the Clover boot loader before it successfully loads. It gets as far as the Apple logo, but quickly reboots before anything shows up on the progress bar. Too quickly for me to capture anything using verbose...

Laggy mouse after waking from sleep

Also, while on the subject. Should I be using drivers from AMD? Do they exist for Mac? Can't seem to find anything. Thanks!

Laggy mouse after waking from sleep

A quick follow up. I did a few tests with the config file and kexts. I both updated and reverted to new and old versions of whatevergreen, tried to inject ATI in clover configurator, and finally re-installed FakeSMC and all the sensor files. But, none of this seemed to work. As a last resort...

Laggy mouse after waking from sleep

Hi all, I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and might be able to help me with a solution. Whenever MacOS wakes from sleep the mouse movements are very laggy. The mouse is useable to a degree and technically works overall, but the movement stutters and the mouse jumps across the...

Faint clicking (HDD?) 2-3 times a second

Thanks for the suggestion. C6 appears to be selected in Clover already. As for the bios, all are set to auto. Not sure if I should enable them, but I assume auto is enough?

Faint clicking (HDD?) 2-3 times a second

Hi all, When idle my computer produces a faint click 2-3 times a second (reminds me of an analogue wrist watch), which does not stop. I am assuming that it is my HDD drive, as it has a similar tone to when the drive is reading/writing, plus the front case LED flickers as it does when the hard...

    HWMonitor admin login only?

Hey there, I have a hackintosh that runs MacOS Mojave on a 256GB SSD, with admin account, and my main personal account is on a separate HDD. I've installed FakeSMC, all the plugins and HWMonitor with MultiBeast. HWMonitor opens and runs fine within my admin account (SSD), but is unresponsive...

    Adding new boot drive?

Thanks all. Any problems with using the SSD as my boot drive and for applications, while keeping my main user profile and storage (desktop/documents) on the HDD? I'd like to save a bit of money and get an SSD that's in the 250GB range. I'd simply clone the OS and EFI to SSD and delete the HDD...

    Adding new boot drive?

Apologies if there is a thread on this already. I could not find the information after a search. If so, please link and disregard this post. I have a fully functional MacOS Mojave installed to a single HDD, but finding it to be a tad sluggish at times. I am considering adding an SSD boot drive...

[Solved] Mojave reboots after clover boot screen - GTX 760 graphics issue?

Hey P1LGRIM... you definitely sent me down the correct path! I was able to solve my problem and the system seems to be working fine now. I'm not going to change anything at this point, but for those in a similar situation it was one of these two things: 1. I had a look at /Library/Extensions/...

[Solved] Mojave reboots after clover boot screen - GTX 760 graphics issue?

OK. I tried all of this, but still no success. I disabled intel graphics and set my initial display to various PCI settings (options were IGFX, PCIe1, PCIe2, PCI), but no success with any. I assume this is what you meant by PEG as primary? Out of curiosity I also enabled integrated graphics...

[Solved] Mojave reboots after clover boot screen - GTX 760 graphics issue?

The zipped file is attached. I updated clover through the sourceforge package (r4813). I was initially unable to boot due to missing the "OsxAptioFix3Drv-64.efi" file, but found some forum posts that lead me in the right direction. And thankfully I still had a Sierra recovery USB with an old...

[Solved] Mojave reboots after clover boot screen - GTX 760 graphics issue?

I tried the new config.plist and it's still causing a kernel panic after attempting to boot Mojave. The details appear too quickly in verbose mode to pick up any details. Is there any way to log those details? I also booted up in Windows, just to be sure the GTX 760 is working properly...
