As the title suggests I have a working install of Monterey, but it takes 3-4 tries from the Clover boot loader before it successfully loads. It gets as far as the Apple logo, but quickly reboots before anything shows up on the progress bar. Too quickly for me to capture anything using verbose mode. Nothing changes, but usually around attempt 4 or 5 I will see the progress bar start and then everything quickly boots up. The system is otherwise very stable and everything works as it should. All hardware is recognized under the system profile.

I originally had a vanilla install of Mojave that worked fine (except for a minor sleep issue). I was able to update to Catalina using the system updater, and then from Catalina directly to Monterey. All with the apple updater. Mojave to Catalina was flawless.

I searched the forum for others that might have had a similar issue and found this post. But it does not seem to solve my problem. My system specs are below. Any help is appreciated.

MacOS Monterey 12.2.1
iMac 17,1 SMBIOS
Gigabyte GA-H87M-D3H
Haswell i5 4670 3.4GHz
16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory
Sapphire Pulse 4GB ITX RX 570
120GB SSD (MacOS)
2TB HDD (home folder + storage)
2TB HDD (Windows 10)
ASUS USB-BT400 Bluetooth
Dual screen 2008 23" Apple displays (DVI and DVI-to-HDMI)

Clover Bootloader 5144

you can add debug=0x100 to your boot args. this will disable the automatic reboot after the panic happens. hopefully that will give you more insight to what is causing the issue.

That’s a handy trick that I was not aware of. Thanks for the tip.

I’m getting an “in memory panic stackshot succeeded” error. Screenshot attached. A quick search of the forum and I wasn’t able to find any definitive solutions. Where is best to start troubleshooting?

Your kernel panic information has scrolled off the top of your screen.
You should video the boot process and then extract the relevant frame(s) to post here.

Here's what I got. Not exactly the clearest shot, but hopefully it helps. I don't think the refresh rate on these old Apple studio displays are up to today's standards! Or my old iPhone 7...

Thanks for having a look.

Edit to add: I can try again if there is a particular area that isn't clear enough. Just not sure it will get any better.

OK. I tried again, but with the camera closer. It cuts off portions of the text, but is more clear. Not sure what can be done about the text overlap from the low refresh rate.

I can't make heads or tails out of this, TBH. I see something about "... load succeeded" which seems like similar messaging to the final error message. And I also see something kernel related prior to initialization before it wants to shut down, I assume, because it shows the system uptime in nanoseconds shortly after.

Looks like a problem with Lilu/WhateverGreen kexts.

zip and attach your /EFI folder.
Also post a screenshot of /Library/Extensions folder.

your clover version is too old for Monterey

also missing ACPI/Patched folder with relevant/needed files

it takes 3-4 tries from the Clover boot loader before it successfully loads.
This behaviour is typical of what happens when you have multiple memory fix drivers.

You have AptioMemoryFix.efi and OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi which both do the same job and are mutually exclusive.
Choose one or the other but not both.

Remove AptioInputFix.efi.
