No Audio Devices - AppleHDA Realtek Audio

There is the problem.
Two choices:
1. Boot High Sierra off the Sierra Boot media, reply with Problem Reporting files
2. Boot Sierra off the Sierra Boot media, reply with Problem Reporting files

I may have written this incorrectly, both systems use the same drive and clover to start, just the selection from clover is a different HD. Maybe you can answer a couple of questions about clover and EFI in general? How can I tell if the system is booting from the EFI (partition in this case EFIMSATA) or from the EFI folder on a given drive? In my BIOS I select the Physical Drive to boot from and then it boots (presumably from the EFI partition). In either case above the boot itself is from the same partition but the OS is loaded from different partitions on different physical media. However both os partitions have an EFI folder (from older methods of boot). Is there something innocuous I could to to modify the config.plist in each to determine which is actually being used?

The BIOS boots the EFI partition on the physical drive selected. The User selects the partition Clover boots.

Clover boot log shows config.plist properties loaded.
Boot Sierra and reply with all problem Reporting Files.

This is working Sierra Config, I couldn't see any significant differences except that there is no audio codec in HIGH Sierra. I included both the sierra and high sierra boot logs from clover.

included both the sierra and high sierra boot logs from clover.
10.12.6 uses EFISSD on SSD
10.13.3 uses EFIMSATA on MSATA
config.plists are different, no idea why audio works on one and not the other.
2nd request:

I guess I am ignorant about something. I always BOOT (into clover) from the same partition then I pick either SSD or MSATA to load the operating system. How does it decide to use EFIMSATA or EFISSD for clover (since clover is already up by then)? To me that should always be using the same EFI partition...

I always BOOT (into clover) from the same partition
Boot log shows a different EFI partition for each version, see Post #517.
BIOS does not see partitions, BIOS sees drives. Clover sees bootable partitions.

My turn! I'd appreciate your help, Toleda (or anyone else).

Description of audio problem:
No audio devices. Despite applying fix HDAS-->HDEF, I get "No audio codec detected" from audio_codecdetect_v2.3.command
Both fix techniques from IX.1 of the Realtek Audio Guide tried separately (clover.plist patch, and SSDT-HDEF-HDAS-1.aml)

OS X version/motherboard model/BIOS version/processor/graphics:
10.12.6
ASRock Z170M Extreme4 (UEFI P2.0)
i5-6600K
ASUS TURBO-GTX970-OC-4GD5

Procedure/Guide Used:

Thanks!

Still not understanding this or how to accomplish this task. I ALWAYS point the BIOS at the same DRIVE whether I am loading 10.12.6 or 10.13.3. How does boot loader decide to use the EFIMSATA or EFISSD after I have pointed the BIOS at the drive? (where is config?) My assumption was that the actual EFI type partition on the drive I selected was going to be used and since I am alway pointing the BIOS at the same drive it seems like once that happens the only thing I am choosing is which Partition to load the op system from. At that point doesn't clover go to the EFI type partition on the drive I pointed the BIOS to to read the config.plist?

No ideas. Not clear:
why Clover is installed to 2 drives.
why the EFI partitions are not named EFI.
what Clover is doing.
For 10.13 audio, suggest clean install.
