Motherboard
GIGABYTE Z97X-UD3H
CPU

Graphics
RX 580
Mac
  1. iMac
  2. MacBook Air
  3. MacBook Pro
  4. Mac mini
Mobile Phone
  1. Android
  2. iOS
So here is my build:

Intel Core i5 Quad-Core 3570K 3.4 GHz
8 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
ASUS DVD-RW Drive
Crucial m4 256 GB SSD
GIGABYTE GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 Motherboard

Whenever I boot up, it will boot into the bootloader, and then I need to boot with GraphicsEnabler=No because of Intel HD Graphics 4000. Once the language screen is loaded, I can't click on anything or use my keyboard (both USB) to select things. The odd thing is the mouse moves, it just can't click. 10 minutes later, it started working. It also did this when I booted into the final installed copy (installed successfully). I don't want this to be a permanent problem! Anyone have any ideas?

I have the exact same issue. Have you found a solution?

Have you tried altering the settings in BIOS for USB Legacy or something similar? Have the system at any point not had the issue?

How would I do this? I have a GIGABYTE motherboard, where would this setting be located? Also, when using Windows, everything works as expected.

Same issue with 10.8.2 on a desktop with intel i3 3225 HD4000 Gigabyte H61MA-D2V 8GB ram. Does anybody have some idea to solve it?

Well in my experience, changing XHCI to AUTO, and enabling Preboot XHCI Detection, Legacy USB, XHCI and EHCI handoff (if they are present on your board) all should help with the general USB boot/detection/usage issues. Otherwise it may simply be down to an incompatible USB set (usually VIA-based), in which case separate non-VIA USB PCI-E cards may be a best alternative to solve the issue. Another one would also be try updating ones BIOS to the latest version and see how that fairs.
