    10.6.3 to 10.6.7 upgrade issues

OK, after installing reinstalling Chameleon, I'm back to my original system. So, to go to 10.6.8 from 10.6.3, do I just need to remove the SleepEnabler.kext from /E/E? Anything else?

    10.6.3 to 10.6.7 upgrade issues

I don't know why exactly, but restoring the retail SL disc onto a brand new flash drive allowed me to finally boot into the installer with "-s". Well, I guess I never actually tried -s before ... Anyhow, I used Time Machine to restore my backup. It finished successfully, but the drive will not...

    10.6.3 to 10.6.7 upgrade issues

Hmm, I still cannot boot my retail SL disc from iBoot. It always seems like it's doing fine, but instead of stalling, it just reboots. My latest attempt was with these flags: -v -x PciRoot=1

    10.6.3 to 10.6.7 upgrade issues

yay, with iBoot, I was able to finally boot with this: "-v pmVersion=0 -x", which took me to "Safe Mode". I removed the sleepenabler file and rebooted, but it still hangs at the VoodooHDA line mentioned before. OK, removed VoodooHDA.kext and regenerated the Extensions.mkext file. restarted with...

    10.6.3 to 10.6.7 upgrade issues

it's too late to clone it unless you're suggesting I restore it and then clone it. Can I go the dsdt route to save my installation? I assume I'd need an iboot disk to load the SL installer to get to a terminal to make some changes to my nonworking install?

Hmm, it's been a while since I set up the box. I don't think I went the dsdt route.

    10.6.3 to 10.6.7 upgrade issues

I was content with 10.6.3, but I needed a newer version in order to use xcode. So, I did the Software Update, and now my system won't boot. At first, I got this message with a Kernel Panic [SleepEnabler] Registering PowerManagement dispatch table... [SleepEnabler] To disable (if the kernel...

still waiting for root device - dual boot issue?

As a test, I installed to a 3rd partition I had, and I was magically able to boot with that install using the 210m. I don't know what the magic juju was, but it's working now. I was also able to restore that drive onto the first one and boot, so it's definitely not a dual boot issue. YAY!

still waiting for root device - dual boot issue?

I have a asus ul30vt-x1k with dual video cards. When I boot with sata bios set to 'enhanced', I can boot properly. However, when I switch to 'compatible', I get the root device error. I've read several success stories for getting the 210m card to work when switching the bios to compatible, so...

Retail SL - benefit in buying recent one?

I own a retail 10.6 DVD. Is there any advantage/disadvantage in buying one from the store now or in the future vs using what I already have? I know that the current version is 10.6.6, but does anyone know what the currently shipping DVD version is?

New Install on HP dv5-2074dx (Assistance?)

Can you tell me what parameters you used for your first 10.6 installation? My retail SL is only 10.6. When I installed onto my i5 desktop, I was able to replace the right files to get 10.6.3 to work, and I'm happy enough with that version. With the Intel HD graphics not working, how does it...

    Safe to sleep after time?

When my computer wouldn't sleep properly, I set the Energy Saver pref to never sleep. However, now that I'm able to sleep, I'm wondering if it's safe to let it go to sleep on its own after x minutes.
