    After reading so many posts here I tried booting in safe mode. It didn't work... But when I restarted, the Install Mac OS High Sierra From SSD was there and it went smoothly.

    I'm not using a USB installer. I have the installer in my Applications folder and I'm trying to update from there. I tried your folder (excluding the Test2.efi file, what is it for btw?) but it didn't help. I still get back to the current version after the installer restarts.

    I changed it to Mac Pro 3,1 but nothing happened. It was the same black screen. I then tried without cache from startup as you previously told, but got the same black screen... Why isn't this working?? :banghead:

    Yes I did repair the permissions and rebuild the caches using kext wizard after installing the given kext, just as you said.

    Hi Jithin, I chose the "without cache" mode at startup by pressing spacebar, but it gives the exact same error as in the last screenshot and then the screen goes black. :(
