Beach ball with most of Apple's apps

Well, so far, every time I have a problem with an app, it seems to point to the AVKit... Even repairing permissions, it shows there is a problem with AVKit... Exception Type: EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000 Application Specific...

Beach ball with most of Apple's apps

I get the beach ball freezing apps like Textedit, iPhoto, iPages, Safari, ... I get stuck for about 90 seconds, then I can do a few things, until the beach ball reappears... very annoying and impossible to work! I do not get the spinning beach ball with apps like Chrome, Photoshop, or any...

GA-H97N-WIFI and Haswell, 2nd Gen: Not ready yet

[All Good Now] GA-H97N-WIFI and Haswell, 2nd Gen: Not ready yet Well, It's been a few weeks and I am really enjoying my build. I changed my noisy PSU for a nice "Be Quiet" 500W and moved all my components to an Aerocool DS rig. Installing everything in the Aerocool was probably the...

GA-H97N-WIFI and Haswell, 2nd Gen: Not ready yet

Thanks for the heads up! I'm still on F1... and a bit wary about updating anything as my H97N-WIFI is working pretty well right now. But should anything arises, that will be the first thing I'll do.

    Hackintosh Reliability?

If your work depends on it, get the real thing. You will save money and countless headaches should anything arise. You will get support from other companies if you have a real mac, not with a hackintosh. You may be able to get a reliable machine now, but who knows later with new updates...

I got a GA-H97N-WIFI that is running swiftly now. Had a bit of teething issues, but mostly because this is a new board and some stuff is not ready for it yet. Still, running a i5-4570, 16G RAM, 2 HD, one for 10.9.3, the other for Win8. I got WIFI by hooking with ethernet an old wifi...

Quick Fix for Intel HD 4600 Graphics Acceleration on 9 Series Motherboards

Sure, Loaded "Optimized settings" in the BIOS (I still have F2 as the only note for F3 was about using SSD, which I do not have). I disabled VT-d. That's it. Here's the list from MultiBeast. 3 days now, 2 overnight sleep, and didn't have to reboot. No crashes of any apps yet either...

GA-H97N-WIFI and Haswell, 2nd Gen: Not ready yet

[Fixed] GA-H97N-WIFI and Haswell, 2nd Gen: Not ready yet USB issue was , I believe, related to my install of HWMonitor, which is not supported yet on series 9 boards. Also , the newly added "quick fix for HD4600" added in Graphics made my whole system, with a very streamlined set of kexts...

First Build, Stuck at apple logo screen after installing mavericks and windows 7

Try to boot with -x again. If you do get to the desktop, run a kext utility to rebuild caches and repair permissions. Re-boot. Hopefully that will do the trick.

    Sleep mode under Mavericks

my take on the whole thing so far is to install the fewest things possible from MultiBeast. Maybe try again, and select the very basic options, and work your way up... adding some kexts as needed, but not more. I tried to follow everything I could find on the net and that was a mistake...

    General help GA-H97N-WIFI, Core i5 - 4690, GTX 780

I have the H97N-WIFI, and right now, I'm having a blast. I combined it with a i5-4570, 16G RAM and a 2G HD. I am using HD4600 with the fix posted in Graphics, but I have the GT640 in a box... waiting to be installed. I didn't add the ALC892 fix because I have USB sound and it works fine...

Quick Fix for Intel HD 4600 Graphics Acceleration on 9 Series Motherboards

I did two fixes at the same time, and for the last 24 hours, it has been perfect. The HD4600 is still working fine. I also followed a link I found on how to wipe HWMonitor from HD because toleda mentioned about it not being supported in series 9 boards (which I installed using MultiBeast at...

Quick Fix for Intel HD 4600 Graphics Acceleration on 9 Series Motherboards

Ok, after a couple of stressful hours, I have a bootable system again. So, 3rd time's the charm? I'm giving it another go, this time using Kext Wizard 2. Let's see if that one will do it. Edit: QE is alive! 3rd time was the one! And it looks like Kext Wizard 2 is a keeper...
