Used the built-in update tool as usual and everything fine as usual. Just a routine audio rollback needed. My computer is totally badass :-) Thank you Tony for your excellent software and workarounds!

Strange thing. In my com.apple.boot.plist 64bit kernel architecture is enabled, activity monitor shows all system processes as 64bit. However, system information in its software section indicates 64bit kernel and extensions is not on. Well, that doesn't affect anything so far, but it is strange.

So, no Time Machine backups for a certain period of time. That is sad. Thanks anyway, your input is appreciated

Thank you! I 'm half-way through - with that solution I can logon and browse the disk, I can see the sparcebundle file. However, the Time Machine itself cannot work with the disk, I have this message - The network backup disk does not support the required AFP features. Any ideas appreciated
