UPDATE I was having major issues with the machine. I would get into the macOS, and it would just freeze if I did anything graphic related. I managed to update to 10.14.1 directly, and all the issues melted away. Still having to work on the USB 3 at the moment.

I think regardless ill always have a "real" mac in the house. Currently have 2011 17inch macbook pro, 2010 mac mini and a 2009 white macbook. I think though ill go to a macbook air next the 17 inch is a monster to carry around.

im using both DVI ports on the card and im using the standard stuff form multibeast. I dont know enough to play with kexts as yet. If you have an idea i would be glad to know.
