Finally got the power-on -> Apple login screen under a minute (57s). After removing the 10G card, then CMOS reset there was no change. So I decided to update the BIOS to F9g. Took me some time to figure out where the critical BIOS changes were located. Went to turn on -v boot option and...

Intel Network adapters on OS X: Small Tree drivers

After rereading dryden post, I realized that my situation is not the same. Without the X520-DA2 card installed, physically removed from the system, the adapter still shows up in the System Preferences, in the Network Pane. Weird.

@CaseySJ or anyone else that knows. I'm still learning about using SSDT files. It is easy when you have a guide like this, to worry about the details. I have two slightly experienced noob questions. 1) I presume that the SSDT-UIAC-DESIGNARE-Z390-V7.aml is only changing the available phy...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Thanks for looking into it. I pulled my Maxwell card and replaced it with this older MSI card to get me going and figured it was good enough for now. I'm going to table this issue for now and consider getting an AMD Radeon Pro card. I need a decent GFX card for the Windows half of this machine...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I need a little help with my build. Everything is pretty much running as expected. I've moved on to the "Going the extra mile" section and the tuning the system for Photoshop and IMovie use, but I'm using an Nvidia GTX 760 card. I noticed a jumpiness to certain windows when they automatically...
