Help: Catalina, Only One Display Works : GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK + RX 580

I had a rock solid build going: GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK + RX 580 OpenCore / Catalina Everything worked, boot from NVME, sleep, audio I even had two 1440p 144hz screens running over Display Port! And then I broke it. A few months ago, I installed BigSur on a test partition, and it worked, but I...

Removing Clover (not UEFI) Boot Entries after Install

UPDATE: I have seen a lot of posts where people are interested in removing UEFI boot entries, but my question is about the boot entries that show up on the Clover boot screen not the entries that show up in my motherboard's UEFI boot options. I have a small problem that I've been putting up...

HELP: Fan Speed / Power Management for Radeon 7970

Thanks for the advice. Sadly, I don't have a Windows installation to check, but it's not going to be a problem much longer since I will be switching back to nVidia chipsets. I have just learned that all Radeon cards are now having issues recovering from sleep under El Capitan and Sierra, so it's...

HELP: Fan Speed / Power Management for Radeon 7970

After running my Hackintosh for years on the nVidia platform, I recently read a post online about the performance and native support for the Radeon 7970. Considering that native support for nVidia hasn't progressed much recently, and because I found one on craigslist for $50, I decided to swap...

Extremely slow boot using Clover USB

No change. It still takes 30 seconds or so after selecting the OS before I'm at the Yosemite login screen.

Extremely slow boot using Clover USB

Thanks. I'll try that. "Debug" was already disabled, but I'll add the key and value you suggested and see what happens.

Extremely slow boot using Clover USB

You did not understand my post... If I could boot the entire Yosemite system from a USB stick in 30 seconds, that would be amazing. If you figure out how to do that, I'd like to hear that too. No, I am booting off an SSD; Chameleon is installed to the SSD, and Clover is installed to a USB. I...

Extremely slow boot using Clover USB

My hackintosh was running great using Chameleon, but in the world of Hackintoshing, nothing is ever truly 100%, so I'm playing around with Clover to see if things can get even better. I have successfully installed clover to a USB stick and am successfully booting from it into my hack, but the...

[SOLVED] ALC1150 (GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK) Yosemite 10.10.2 - No Sound after Multibeast and No Sound After W

My solution: I used Multibeast 7.2 to change my system definition to iMac15,1. That's it. Sound works reliably after sleep/wake cycles. There is only one caveat. Every now and then, after going a while without any sounds playing, I get an audible "Pop" through my powered speakers that...

Install Help Needed: Mountain Lion works, Yosemite won't Install

Greetings! My son is happily running a hackintosh on an old HP Intel Core 2 Duo motherboard with a BIOS Version of DPP3510J.86A The on board audio doesn't work, but he has USB speakers and a USB headset and everything else works fine under Mountain Lion. However, when trying to install...

Help to Avoid NVDA Channel Exceptions Through Software and/or Hardware

To test the memory, I removed one stick, rebooted, ran the Heaven app, and the system didn't crash. Then, I powered off, swapped the memory sticks, booted, ran the Heaven app, and the system froze. Then, I had read about how to increase the stability of an overclocked system, and tried...

Help to Avoid NVDA Channel Exceptions Through Software and/or Hardware

Well, after months using the 4850, I still was getting random freezes. However, when the freezes happen with a Radeon card, the error log doesn't show anything indicating the graphics subsystem. I decided to go through a few days of rigorous testing, and finally discovered that one of my memory...

Help to Avoid NVDA Channel Exceptions Through Software and/or Hardware

I paid $50 for it, but I'm still amazed that I get that performance from a card this old and only 512MB of DDR3 RAM. It's significantly better than my 2GB GT 640 even discounting the crashes! But it is not as good as the GTX 650 I tested for a while.

    NVDA Channel Exception (Open GL)?

I tried everything recommended on every site. I hacked the AGPM kext. I changed my Mac identifier. I even purchased three different NVIDIA cards (GT 430, GT 640, GTX 650) to test them. The bottom line is this: Running Dual Displays seems to make the card more prone to channel exceptions...
