Oh damn, I don't have access to a mac. I've noticed people selling Sierra bootable usb sticks on eBay could that be a viable option? My only concern with that is that it might not have been done with unibeast.
Thoughts?
Hi! I'm very new to this and have endeavored to follow the guides to the tee, but I'm obviously missing something as I can't seem to get Snow Leopard installed. My destination is to run Sierra. My build is as follows:
Asus ROG Strix Z270G
I7 7700K
Intel HD 630
16GB Crucial Ballistics DDR4...
Downloaded .ISO firmware and burned to CD as per manufacture's instructions. Im supposed to press and hold the option key to get to a display screen but nothing happens ;/
I'll soldier on but if anyone else has had this problem getting hard drives to work please chime in.
Just plugged in another SSD and that is recognised fine.
Still would like to get the HDD working though. Do i perhaps need to download firmware for it? It's a Seagate Barracuda 1TB.
I'm having some trouble getting ML to recognise my hard drive. My SSD with ML is fine and it recognises flash drives, i have tried 3 different flash drives - all fine.
I am using a Gigabyte Z77 DS3H mobo.
I read that i didn't need a DSDT because my mobo doesn't need one so i opted for User...
Hi i am having trouble updating from 10.6.3 to 10.6.8. I made sure not to use multibeast as instructed here but when i try to select my partition to upload it says it cant do it and that i need to be running 10.6.7 or later.
I have put the combo update onto USB via another computer as i cant...
Hi bumping this as i am having further troubles.
I had previously managed to sucessfully perform the 10.6.8 update, but hit problems later on and had to wipe SSD again.
So as per Adrians post i should follow iboot guide but without using multibeast. I have mountain lion installer on a USB...

Hi Adrian, I am indeed unable to download my Purchased Mountain Lion update with Wifi.
I navigated to System Preferences/Network but didn't see what you meant about en0 and en1, are these editable?
edit: installed kext utility, dragged the atheros kext into it.
still not able to use Ethernet...
Oh ok great, I'll make sure to add that kext and those settings and report back thanks. Currently in a bit of a tis having Apple id issues as I bought the installation using a guest account. Some mothers do av em'.
My TP LINK wireless works in 10.6.8 So that's great!
Ordered Mountain Lion from the MAS.
Thanks Adrian for your guidance, it's been gold dust,
Take care,
Alex
:headbang:

i guess ML is what I'll go for then. Just to clarify, I don't need to use multibeast for the SL part as it's just being used as a stepping stone, but I do for ML? So the ML multibeast will be functional for my hardware and will allow me to optimise my computer whilst enabling me...
Oh yes, I'm glad you brought the audio side of things up because I pretty much only want to use this computer to run Logic 9! After having read several articles it seems that SL is my best bet with stability for LP9 so happy days.
I noticed when I got onto my current volume I had no Ethernet...
