Hey everybody,

I wanted to let everybody at this great forum know of my attempts.
Earlier attempts to upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion were unsuccessful last year, but somehow this weekend I really haven't had any troubles upgrading whatsoever.
Here's the trick:

When following the 10.9 installation guide, I ran into trouble after I used my USB-stick to install for the first time. My monitor went offline every time when it proceeded to the installer.
SOLUTION: I just added 'GraphicsEnabler=Yes' to the startup sequence and it worked flawlessly!
Do this every time until you have used Multibeast Mavericks to make sure the setting "GraphicsEnabler=Yes" is added to the bootlist all the time and you're good to go!!!!

NOTE: all of the above is regarding a fresh install.
Coming week I'll try to upgrade my existing Lion-install, but I expect no problems.

Good luck everyone!

Update 1: I added a new graphics card, a GTX 660 Ti.
The only adjustment I had to make was setting GraphicsEnabler=Yes to No at startup and later in Multibeast. That's it!

Update 2: the only trouble I'm having is with bluetooth. It sometimes works, but after sleep it gets lost. I'll try different suggested methods from the forum and let you know what worked for me.

Update 3: Bluetooth totally gone! Reinstalling Mavericks didn't help, fiddling with all the settings and different Kexts didn't work. Have to try something else.

Update 4: Bluetooth working!!! I followed this guide to the letter and so far so good! http://news.hitb.org/content/adding-original-apple-bluetooth-module-hackintosh
Should have done/found this earlier! :D

Hey, a little update.
My upgrade from an existing Lion-install to Mavericks went absolutely perfect!

Thanks man, you saved me a lot of frustration tying to getting it to work!

Any idea to get the network works ?

I have x58 sabertooth as well

Finally, after a clean reinstall, ethernet is working using the Realtek 8105e driver at 100mbps.

Hi, so, the other Ethernet options in Multibeast do not work with this motherboard??

Finally, after a clean reinstall, ethernet is working using the Realtek 8105e driver at 100mbps.
I know this thread is old but I hope it might help someone. I have same MB.
Did fresh install of Mavericks and after first boot I had internet but no sound so in Multibeast I chose under drivers Audio > Realtek ALCxxx > ALC892 and for network I chose Realtek > RealtekRTL81xx v0.0.90 but after reboot I lost network. So after long Trial and errorI got it to work using Realtek > AppleRTL8169Ethernet 2.0.6
I'm not sure why but it works. On-board chip is Realtek 8110SC

I tried to install the mentioned ethernetdriver but it totally locked up my startup, so I had to install multibeast with the old configuration on the HD again.
