Guide: Update OS X Mavericks to OS X Yosemite Using UniBeast and MultiBeast

i booted with Unibeast flash drive then i installed over Mavericks then used Multibeast to install my kexts and it works perfect

is there any advantage doing a Fresh install over Doing An update?

With or without "kext-dev-mode=1" FakeSMC isn't loaded from KernelCache and "still waiting for root device" error occurs.
I have to boot with "UseKernelCache=No" or Kernel Flag "-f".
Has someone else found a solution for this problem?

Yosemite install without much issue. but after multibeast i have one major issue.
only part of USB ports works. some ports does not work at all even tho it works during install
anyone having the same issue??
Gigabyte Z87X-OC with EVGA GTX 760

any suggestion and help is greatly appreciated.

Ya same here.

Install goes smoothly, but after that and installing Multibeast I have issues and dance around USB ports for my Mac keyboard and USB mouse to work. Plus Multibeast not installing the ALC892 drivers which I know is already a issue from ready on here.

Mulitbeast seems to be having issues.

I had similar problems on my GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3. The grey screen with the circle and line through it is the graphical equivalent of "Still looking for boot device" if you boot with -v by the way. This happened after running Multibeast. In fact, my boot SSD was not visible to the system for a while (which caused me some panic, I thought Yosemite had killed my SSD!) Finally, after shutting down and rechecking BIOS settings, I was able to boot into Yosemite. Still got a few kernel panics then things settled down and it seems to be working properly.

That was before this guide and the updated Unibeast 5.0.1, which I'm hoping will eliminate these problems on the other hacks I support when I upgrade them.

i have Asrock P67Pro3 motherboard and just upgraded from mavericks 10.9.3 to yosemite just fine, i used 'GraphicsEnabler=Yes' option at boot. graphics, network and everything else works fine except audio(i have alc892). even though i check the correct option for audio on multibeast, it doesn't work. other than that, the installation was flawless.

update: fixed audio by installing hdaenabler1.kext from https://github.com/toleda/audio_kext_enabler and install it with kext utility.

I ran into some problems after the post-installation using MultiBeast:

Hey guys,

i had had no problem booting the usb, installing Yosemite and then booting from the usb to my drive. Everything went smoothly until that. Problems began after installing all the necessary files
via Multibeast. After I did that and booted normaly into my SSD I have the (in the comments reoccurring) slashed circle. I'm trying to do the while installation again, but I'm not sure if that really is gonna help.
Im running on a Ga Z77x ud5h
feel free to help me (and the others)

I had the same problem (fine until I configured with Multibeast), then I had the "Still waiting for boot drive" problem (the grey screen with a slashed circle). After a few tries I got it to boot but it kernel panicked a few times. Finally things seemed to settle in on their own and I have a working Yosemite system.
