Guide: Update OS X Mavericks to OS X Yosemite Using UniBeast and MultiBeast

Gershy i got into the Installer by booting with -v -x -f and it booted into the installer I'm installing doing a fresh install tho :headbang::thumbup:

How would I go about doing a fresh install? Do I need to remove all my other ram sticks with the upgrade as well?

just go into Disk Utility and erasing then install

We will be releasing an in-depth walkthrough guide for fresh OS X Yosemite installs later today.

Updated two machines today relatively painlessly, both old hardware, the testbed Hack with a P5KPL-VM and the main user with a GA-P55M-UD4. No major issues..

Thanks Tony, brilliant little guide got me up and running into Yosemite from Mavericks with minimal fuss. Followed all steps no problem. Only thing I have to do at initial USB boot to install is add -x GraphicsEnabler=Yes npci=0x2000

From there, all good. Was expecting to set aside most of the day for this install, but was very quick. Only had to re-install my D-Link DWA 140 USB wireless dongle. And all that on a pretty old setup, embarrassingly old in fact.

Has anyone created an "Update from Mountain Lion to Yosemite" guide? I really need to get my system into the 21st century... ;-)

Thanks,

Steve
