I just got iMessage working by doing the following:

1. Download Chameleon Wizard (http://www.osx86.net/files/file/3751-chameleon-wizard-432/) and go to the SMBios tab. Click Edit and select the "iMac (14,1)" profile under Premade SMBioses.
2. Click both Random buttons to generate a unique Serial.
3. Open your EFI partition and edit EFI/CLOVER/config.plist in a text editor

A.
<key>BoardSerialNumber</key>
<string>C02032101R5DC771H</string>

Paste the value above but change some of the numbers and letters to make yours unique. Don't change the length of digits.

B.
<key>SerialNumber</key>
<string>W8000AAAAA</string>

Paste in the serial number generated in Chameleon Wizard.

C.
<key>SmUUID</key>
<string>00000000-0000-1000-8000-010203040506</string>

Paste the value above but change the last 6 digits to be the Mac address of your Ethernet (en0) adapter. You can get this by going to System Preferences->Network->Advanced...->Hardware. So if your Mac address is 74:d4:34:cd:8d:0c then your value would be 00000000-0000-1000-8000-74D434CD8D0C

4. Reboot.

When I logged back into OSX it actually prompted me for my iMessage password right away.

For more detailed info about editing config.plist you can check out http://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Configuration/SMBIOS

Can any owners of the 4770R model report if the noisy fan issues have been rectified ?

I think this is subjective. I can't hear the fan noise on idle. When I play a game such as Anomaly 2, the fan is pretty loud, but loud fans never really bothered me.

For anyone who gets a system reset immediately after trying to boot the install disk. There is a BIOS setting under CPU called "Cfg Lock" that I had to disable to get past this point. That might save someone else many hours of :banghead:

This option is only available in the F4 bios I believe...I couldn't find it in F3 bios.

I know I'm being lazy, but this might help others that are less experienced with Mac on PC. Can anyone provide me with a quick walkthrough on getting the headphone jack working? I understand a patch is needed, but I don't want to break anything now that I have most things working. Once again, thanks in advance for any help, it's most appreciated.

I have the BRIX 4770R. Did you get a solution for the laggy ethernet. I have tried both the RealtekRTL8111.kext version 1.1, 1.2 from Mieze and both have very slow lan connections. Atleast the 1.1 is slow but does not drop, the 1.2 version drops when the load increases.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Problem solved - update 7/13

Folks,

I finally found the solution for the RTL8111 being very slow. Mieze in insanelymac forum posted a version 1.2.2-dev3 which solves the problem.

Hi guys,

My system is the brix pro 4770r. Bios version is F4. I'm using 2x crucial 8gb ram and samsung evo ssds on msata and sata

I must be missing something. I've tried several times to install using the provided instructions. When installing, no sata oe msata disks are shown on disk utility. But I can install it fine if using a usb 3.0 connected disk. After restarting, the internal disks still doesn't show on disk utility.

I've downloaded the mac os 10.9.4 app and followed instructions to create the usb disk. Then I've used latest clover install (r2747) . Downloaded the provided files and copied them to the respective places they should be.

I see that user Smosse had a similar issue to mine. Maybe you know what you did in order to get your internal disks working. Later I will need help to fix the audio, but for now, having a bootable internal disk should be enough.

Thank you.

Hi Abacax86,

I encountered the same problem as you did.

However, I solved it with the following procedure:
1. When you boot with the usb stick installed with clover, please do not install the operating system first.
If you do, you cannot see the internal msata disk when you try to install mavericks.
2. So, you have to run the disk utility to partition your disk before the installation. If you do the partition first, you will see your disk when trying to install the operation system.

That is how I dealt with the missing internal msata disk.
Enjoy it.
