HP ProBook Installer 6.1: 4x30s and 4x40s support

HP ProBook Installer 6.1 (beta): Ivy bridge support

Actually, it's not so big deal, only around 15 seconds delay...

That's twice the time it takes ML to boot!

It looks like the iasl compiler has failed. Which version of SL do you use? Did you updated your SL to 10.6.8 before running the Installer? Did you followed this guide?

This was installed from a 10.6.3 retail and the combo update to 10.6.8. I wonder if there might be something different in the way that the System Definitions are set.

The explanation window in the installer reports the following when you select the "i3/i5 Sandy Bridge" check box:

Select this definition, if you have i3 or i5 Sandy Bridge CPU.

System definition: MacBookPro8,1 - Core i5 (2435M) 2.40 GHz

I don't find a way to explicitly select the "MacBookPro" or "8,1" "8,2" etc. that I think is living in there somewhere.

This is a nice piece of work. Thanks to you and Rehabman for looking at this.

Something goes bad right here...

Code:
...
Jul 2 10:00:02 thisHPs-Mac-Pro installd[897]: ./postinstall: ./ssdtPRGen.sh: line 2093: ./iaslpbi: Bad CPU type in executable
...

I'll try on my machine and see what I see...

What bootloader is this using?? iBoot? iBoot legacy??

Just did fresh install SL 10.6.8, following this guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook-4530s/78905-guide-installing-snow-leopard-hp-probook.html (I did not need to remove my extra 4GB RAM).

Used iBoot 3.3.0, Retail SL DVD 10.6.3 from Apple.

Normal sequence: iBoot 3.3.0 to boot Retail SL DVD, clean partition, install, reboot to iBoot into fresh HDD partition to finish to desktop, UpdateHelper, reboot to iBoot to HDD partition, to 10.6.8 combo update, force quit Installer, run ProBook Installer, reboot into working OS X 10.6.8 on ProBook 4530s.

Look at this. Is the iaslpbi binary "fat" or "slim"?

It is 64-bit only (not 32/64 universal) therefore I would consider it 'thin 64-bit'...

Maybe it should be universal 32/64 bit. There are many results from google with the same problem and the cause is missing CPU architecture in the binary for the most of them.
