POLL: AIRPLAY Mirroring Working or not...

Status
Not open for further replies.
Airplay working for me. Both (AppleTV and Hackintosh) are connected by wifi.

PEG is INIT FIRST in BIOS.
Installed iMac 12,2 system defintion to get everything working correctly.

i have to see if i have that BIOS setting in my MOBO and try it... (Mirroring was THE main reason i updated to ML)

Works for me, both are GbE wired to AirPort Extreme through an 8-port NetGear Smart switch.

MacMini,5,1 definition with HD3000 only.

Cannot boot into Lion/ML/Unibeast with both cards on (HD3000+GT430).

hhmmmmmm
so my variables could be 4...

1) my system definition. mine is currently set as a macpro...
2)Bios Settings
3) i dont have airport extreme.. (although iphone and ipad mirroring work fine so this is provably not it)
4) audio kext may not be supported to do video AND audio streaming at the same time....

You smbios.plist is definitely it. Needs to be either a MacMini,5,1 or iMac,12,2.

Also, ensure you select the device from the menu 'AirPlay Devices'

I have SMBIOS set to iMac12,2 and AirPlay Mirroring does not work for me. I just changed my BIOS setting from IGFX to PEG and that had no effect as well.

Edit:
Just tried MacMini 5,1 and it's working for me ;)

Have you guys been so in a hurry to get home from work to try something on your machine that it feels like each hour is about a week long? that is what is happening to me...

Yes, you can using 'System Definitions'.

It usually KPs a couple of times for me after I change the definition but, starts fine afterwards.

Have you had any luck yet? You pretty much have the same build as me except I use the CustoMac Recommended TP-Link card.

I took out the graphics card and I tested out iMac 12,2 for my build and I got kernel panics on boot 5 reboots in a row using Cham Wizard. Maybe I should've used MultiBeast, but I can't upgrade my main system HD until I can resolve this and some other issues. I'm going to mess around with ML again tonight and tomorrow and see if MacMini does the trick.

Alright, I got airplay working thanks to memmerson's helpful post found at this link here.

I didn't flash the UEFI BIOS. I just used the checkboxes he selected (except for LAN) and used the Macmini SMBIOS profile just as shown. I had to boot into safe mode after reboot to get past a KP and I fixed permissions. I rebooted again and now everything is good to go. System is stable and everything seems fine. Airplay now works with audio without my Radeon 6870 installed. I think I'll upgrade my main HD. I'll resolve my graphics card problems another day.
