<< Solved >> RX580 GPU got Screen Freeze

Hi,

As I mentioned previously, and the guys have agreed, this problem is highly indicative of faulty VRAM. Those screen patterns nail it for me. I've seen exactly the same.

Being cautious - because I have no hands-on with your hardware, I had to offer advice with the possibility I was missing something. For example the VRAM not actually being faulty but it might just be overheating.

Sadly what you have posted since only seems to confirm the faulty memory diagnosis. Either swap the card or live with the lock-ups and reboots.

Sorry.

There is nothing you can do to fix the issue apart from replacing the card

compatible cards:
@Feartech
Thanks for sharing AMD card that support macOS.
There are 2 cards:
RX 6600
RX 6600 XT

Cheaper GPU : RX 5500, RX 5500 XT

*What is the XT meaning of?

What's the GPU brand will be better?
Is there any require device ID or any special model that able to support macOS Monterey or Ventura?

I don't want waste more money on this GPU issue.
Please advise. Thanks.

the link above mentions what cards are compatible with macOS

Thanks for everyone sharing the experience about the GPU problem.

Well, I have a problem for Clover Boot-loader and OpenCore Boot-loader screen display.
Please see the attachment for the issue I am having.

My monitor is 27" (Resolution : 2560 x 1440)
The boot loader screen display resolution seems not match my this 27 inches monitor.
I tried the GUI, I could not find the screen resolution for the display 2560 x 1440.

I am sure this is not only me having this problem.
Can teach me how to adjust the screen display for both of Clover boot loader and open core boot loader ?

Question is, do you get artifacts in other Operating Systems like Linux or Windows?

Attach the EFI/CLOVER folder in use. And please, in order to reduce the size, omit EFI/Clover/themes.

you can edit config.plist and type in your screen resolution

You mean like this below:
</dict>
<key>ScreenResolution</key>
<string>2560 x 1440</string>
<key>Theme</key>
<string>tonymacx86</string>
</dict>

The above changed from 1920 x 1080 to 2560 x 1440, is this ?

You most likely have legacy OptROM enabled in the BIOS which won't give you that resolution, If you disable legacy OptROM you need to make sure that the Graphics card has UEFI BIOS Support without it you'll get no Video output.

You seem to of not replied back to the Artifacts question, do you get graphical artifacts in other Operating Systems?

without the spaces!
Code:
<key>ScreenResolution</key>
        <string>2560x1440</string>

My system only installed Mac OS, no windows.
What is legacy OptROM in this motherboard bios?

I guess that I don't have any graphical artifacts in other Operating Systems.
