ASUS X299 Monterey/Ventura Support

@tucoboy

It's not necessary to delete oldConfig.plist. It would be good to do this:
  • Mount EFI partition -- and make sure only ONE EFI partition is mounted
  • Open config.plist from EFI/OC folder in the EFI disk (use OpenCore Configurator)
  • Click on the PlatformInfo --> DataHub section
  • Check if the following fields all look right (these are all new numbers I just generated for this post; yours will be different):

@CaseySJ - Thanks. I'll give that a try and get back to you shortly, to let you know how it went. :)

@CaseySJ - By the way as I'm doing what you instructed earlier, am I supposed to with ProcessorType - 3842 to 3841?

Also, when I open up my adjusted config.plist, I'm noticing that there are some missing spaces that I see filled up on your sample config.plist on the PlatformInfo menu. I put re-input in all the right numbers and letters in their missing spaces and saved the file and when I opened it again, those spots that I refilled were empty again. Is that normal? Let me know. Thanks.

That looks fine now. The spaces in ROM are normal. ProcessorType 3841 (hex F01) is also correct.

What ProcessorType 3841/3842 for ?
Is it for "About your Mac" infos ?
IS it related to your SMBIOS or your actual CPU ?
Thanks
Yes, it’s for About this Mac and used by RestrictEvents.kext.

What is the difference between 3841 & 3842 for RestrictEvents.kext ?

The ReadMe explains it like this:
I've read it..... too fast :p
I've just realised that "0F01" is 3841
Is 3841 only for 8 cores or 8 cores and more ?
and
What's the meaning of 3842 ?
Thanks

@CaseySJ - Alright great. Now I will start up my system using this and hopefully I won't see the "REMOVED" word where the Serial Number shout be. I'll let you know.

Aside from that, I'm still having ethernet connection issues using Ventura beta even with all firewalls turned off. Any further thoughts or input on this?

Regarding Ethernet, I have two suggestions:
  1. Connect Ethernet cable directly to TP-Link router to see if it makes any difference. You don’t have to keep it connected there permanently, but just perform a test.
  2. Install Linux on a USB flash disk, boot from the flash disk to start Linux without installing it, then run Firefox browser in Linux to see if it connects to the Internet. A good Linux distribution is Ubuntu 22.04.
